certificate issued by a competent authority to the
effect that a motor vehicle has been duly registered
in accordance with the provisions of Chapter IV".
This section corresponds to section 2(2) of the
Motor Vehicles Act, 1939
c. CONDUCTOR : "Conductor" defined under
section 2 (5) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, "in
relation to a stage carriage, means a person engaged
in collecting fares from passengers, regulating their
entrance into, or exit from, the stage carriage and
performing such other functions as may be
prescribed". The same section corresponds to
section 2(2-B) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1939.
d. "CONDUCTOR'S LICENCE" : "Conductor's
licence" defined under section 2 (6) of the Motor
Vehicles Act, 1988, "means the licence issued by a
competent authority under Chapter III authorizing
the person specified therein to act as a conductor".
This section corresponds to section 2(2-C) of the
Motor Vehicles Act, 1939.
e. "CONTRACT CARRIAGE" : "Contract
carriage" defined under section 2 (7) of the Motor
Vehicles Act, 1988 "means a motor vehicle which
carries a passenger or passengers for hire or reward
