Survey And Loss Assessment IC-S01
Details of the policy / policies normally included in the report are Policy number
and type of policy,
Name and address of the Insurer and the insured.
Description of the "risk" covered, as recorded in the policy
Validity period of the policy (i.e. date of commencement and expiry of the policy)
Details of the sum insured, in general and of the damaged item in particular
Description of the affected item, as described in the policy, its sum insured
Particulars of the clauses / conditions affecting the reported loss / damage.
CHAPTER 23 OBJECTIVES, PROCESSES & PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
The fundamental objectives of an insurance survey are :
i) Ascertaining admissibility of the claim,
ii) Assessing and adjusting the loss promptly, fairly and honestly, in conformity
with the policy conditions.
iii) Dealing with each claim, on its merits, assisting the insurer in settlement of
legitimate and reasonable claims as soon as possible and
iii) Guarding against excessive, improper and / or fraudulent claims.
