The period of validity of cover note is limited to 60 days
Certificate of insurance
In motor insurance in addition to the policy a certificate of insurance is issued as
required by the Motor Vehicle Act. Certificates of insurance are also issued in
Marine insurance but for a different purpose.
Policy forms
A policy is evidence of contract of insurance. It must be stamped in accordance
with the provisions of Indian Stamp Act 1899.
