The Supreme Court is at the apex of the machinery for
administration of justice.
Powers of Supreme Court: Original jurisdiction, Appellate
jurisdiction, Power to review
The appellate jurisdiction of the Supreme Court extends to all
judgments, decrees or final orders of the High Courts whether in
civil, criminal or other proceedings.
At present there are 21 High Courts in India. These courts have
jurisdiction over state, union territory or group of states and union
territory
Munsif's Court are civil courts empowered to adjudicate claims
upto Rs.50,000
