Miscellaneous Insurance
(i) Where there is another insurance covering the same
interest, e.g, health insurance, any occupational
benefit plan, national health insurance scheme or
public assistance programmes, except in excess of
the benefit under such plan, insurance or scheme.
Q5. If the risk of Burglary Insurance is very large/
complex, inspection is arranged by the
insurance company, for considering
acceptance. Which aspects would such an
inspection report deal with?
Ans. Sometimes, for a Burglary Insurance, if the sum insured
is large, it becomes necessary for a risk inspection. The
purpose of such inspection is two folds.
Firstly, it provides the underwriter with an almost clear
picture of the risk that can be properly rated and special
conditions imposed, if required. Secondly, the report
also highlights any shortcomings in security or safety
features and provides suggestions for the betterment
of the risk.
