Standard Reference Terminology

Anatomical Axis – Sagittal Axis

Sagittal axis or Anterioposterior axis (AP Axis) passes horizontally from posterior to

anterior and is formed by the intersection of the sagittal and transverse planes.

Movement in the frontal plane about the sagittal axis allows for cartwheels.
