King James the VI of Scotland & the I of England
called for a new translation of the Holy Bible that
would be accurate and accepted by all
Bible-believing Christians, not just certain groups.
The English language was at its best around 1611. Due to accumu-
lation, study, and research, it was an excellent time to access the Greek and Hebrew materials. Linguistic
scholarship was at its best. These were the days of Elizabethan English--English at its best. Words in that
era were much more exact and full of meaning. Prose writers and poets such as Spencer, Sidney,
Hooker, Marlowe, and Shakespeare arose during this era of English excellency.
Life in that day was not rushed like life today. As a result, there was more time for thought and
meditation on holy things. The chosen translators were men of great learning who loved the Lord. God
blessed these translators with spiritual insight from God. The Bible texts that were received by
Bible-believing churches in various languages were sought in this work, including the Hebrew, Aramic,
Greek, Syriac, etc. and such English Bibles as the Gothic, Anglo-Saxton, Wycliffe, Tyndale, Geneva,
Bishop, etc. The final product of excellence -- the Authorized (King James) Version of 1611 -- was the
result of years of spiritual, textual, and translational preparation that is full of rhythm and rhyme which
allow for easy memorization. God chose to preserve his perfect inspired word in the text of the
Authorized (King James) Version.
“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou
shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.” Psalms 12:6-7
God Has Preserved His Inspired Word
In The Text Of The Authorized (King James) Version
The Authorized (King James) Version of the Holy Bible has been attacked by Satan through agnostics,
atheists, scholars, teachers, preachers, etc. because it is the inspired, preserved word of God. No other
piece of literature or religious book is so vehemently attacked.
“LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” Psalms 119:89
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.” Isaiah 40:8
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” Matthew 24:35
