Analysis of Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopies
The mean duration of the fifty three upper gastrointestinal endoscopies was 350,55 seconds “sd = 287,61”. With respect
to the postural profile of doctors performing upper gastrointestinal endoscopies the results shown that postures with
cervical right rotation were adopted in 77% of the analyzing time and postures with cervical extension during 28,8% of
the time.
The frequency analysis at the saggittal plane shown that the alternance of postures occurs mainly between neutral
position and cervical extension. The same pattern was found at the horizontal plane: neutral position alternating with
cervical right rotation. The frequency of cervical extension posture (postural categorie 3) was about 1,27 times per
minute and cervical right rotation posture happens 1,88 (postural categorie 3) and 2,80 (postural categorie 4) times per
minute.
