The results obtained with the doctors performing the upper gastrointestinal

endoscopies are related to the relative position of the video monitor and the patient

trolley.

The video monitor is placed at the right side of the endoscopist in a fixed high

and the patient trolley is located in front of him.

After each upper gastrointestinal endoscopy the perceived level of discomfort results

were different depending on the body level (lumbar, cervical, shoulder level, right upper

limb, left upper limb). Nevertheless, in general the perceived discomfort was low. This

result could be related to the short duration of this kind of examination. The values

obtained varied between a minimum of zero (corresponding to no discomfort at all) and

a maximum of 5,50 (corresponding to moderate discomfort).
