Exploring the Relatively New Phenomenon of Coworking

Overview
The course is devoted to Coworking, one of the new workplace practices.
As more and more people are planning to transition to remote work, VET educators
have to contribute to such changes, which is why our project will cater for the need of
both VET educators and young people and 2021 may be just the right time to do so.
The project will be of significant importance for teachers to develop particular
attitudes, be more confident and creative in applying different learning methods,
styles and techniques.
In this day and age new work practices such as Freelancing, Digital Nomadism,
Coworking), new organizational forms such as Collaborative Economy and Gig
Economy as well as new technologies, in particular, artificial intelligence and
augmented reality are changing the way people conceptualize organization and work.
This course deals with the latest trends at work and development in organization
studies to understand new organizational phenomena and ways of working. It is
specially designed for students trying to understand major evolutions about work
practices and organizational dynamics.
Co-working is a modern way of working for entrepreneurs, self-employed individuals
and other professionals who share working space and establish networks, which
serve as the basis for new start-up companies. Today, many young people are faced
with high unemployment rates. That is why, many young individuals from different
backgrounds started to form small communities, based on the same mind-set of
sharing and helping each other while realising their business ideas. Since a lot of
these young professionals are self-employed and are using new technologies in their
work process, they are extremely fexible and are able to work from different
locations. By establishing more co-working locations across the European Union,
European youth will have the environment to get actively engaged in collaboration
with young professionals from various work fields and pursue the positive outcomes
of the social and innovative knowledge-based economy.
The recent Covid-19 pandemics has changed working landscape to a great extent.
The institutions and organizations of both public and private sectors should reflect on
what they learn from employees working remotely and its challenges. Every
institution and the world have to adjust to this new situation. Working from home has
become a buzz phrase, in particular with the Information Technology and the IT
enabled Sectors, mainly to ensure engaging the workforce, to reach out to the
internal and the external stakeholders. The situation throws down challenges for
many of the people to either up-skilling or re-skilling, else they may become
