At the Royal Castle, King Krak with his daughter,
SCENE ladies and courtiers dance the Minuet. The ladies
of the court play a minuet on musical instruments:
NO. 4 flutes and cello.
Suddenly, a very scared messenger comes to the
court and brings bad news to the king - a terrible
monster has settled in the city. There is great fear
in Krakow and all the inhabitants are afraid to
leave their homes, so as not to fall prey to a
dangerous dragon.

Young people dressed in Renaissance costumes
perform the Minuet dance. The king and princess
have crowns on their heads. The messenger is
wearing a black cloak.
