CAT SCRATCH DASH

Coming off of a third place finish in the Grade 2 Colors ofTexas Maturity, Cat Scratch Dash took the win in the $15,000 Colors of the Wind Paint and
Appaloosa Stakes at Retama Park on August 6. Cat Scratch Dash drew the number four post
and broke mid-pack. At the halfway point, rider Francisco Ramirez managed a late rush from Cat Scratch Dash and, with a driving finish, they crossed the wire a neck in front to stop the timer in :18.337 for an 80 speed index.
With first place money of $8,250, Cat Scratch Dash’s total bankroll is now worth $52,410, and his race record stands at four wins out of 18 races.
The colt is owned by Martha Nevarez and trained by Josue Ponce.
Cat Scratch Dash was bred in Oklahoma by Richard Joneson out of the 3-time Quarter Horse winner Cat Scratch Fefurr. She has produced 100% money earners from three starters. Cat Scratch Dash is her first stakes winner and top earner.
Star Power Intent ApHC (With Intent-Power Buggy QH) finished second under Gonzalo Gutierrez. The three-year-old geldings is owned/ trained by Oscar Nunez.
Runaway Pecosa APHA (Mr Streakaway QH-La Pecosa) finished third for her team that includes of owners Ramon Escamilla and Jorge Luis Mendoza and trainer Jorge Mendoza.
Fancy Quick Dash APHA (Country Quick Dash-Treasured Fancy) finishd fourth followed by Choice Of The Harem APHA (Concho Special- Especially Choice QH), Full Of Marbles ApHC (Eye Full Of Cash-All The Marbles), Sis B Grand APHA (Sis B Gol QH-Shawnee Point), Camo Cowgirl APHA (Awesome Chrome-Dial Judy), Caleb Reed APHA (Intrinsic Value QH -Bat Them Eyes) and Eyeza Flash APHA (SF Royal Quick Flash-Open Your Eyes QH).

Home To Vegas, a bay gelding racing for Brian Samis and Marie Broadstock who was the 2 1/4-length wire-to-wire fastest qualifier, kept his
perfect record intact in the $52,490 Ontario Sires’ Futurity at Ajax Downs on Aug. 14.
Ridden by regular rider Tony Phillips for trainer Bob Broadstock, Home To Vegas went 330 yards in :17.190, and his winning margin was a neck from third-fastest qualifier Home Ice. The $20,996 win- ner’s share of the purse from his first stakes victory pushed his bankroll to $29,287.
Raced exclusively at Ajax Downs, Home To Vegas has won all three of his outs, including the first of two Ontario Sires’ Stakes Futurity trials on July 24.
Home To Vegas was bred by Gayle Sommer, DVM of Leaskdale, Ontario, Canada out of the lightly raced mare Cash Into Vegas. She has pro- duced 100% money earners from two starters. Cash Into Vegas is the first stakes winner. The gelding traces back to his third dam, Queen For Cash, a mul- tiple stakes winner who ran second in Higheasterjet’s 1981 All American Derby at Ruidoso Downs.
Home Ice (Iced N Oak-Driving Annie Home) was ridden by Shanley Jackson for owner Full Circle Racing. Greg Watson trained the homebred brown gelding.
Gary McNichol’s Later Tater (Wild Boyz-Eyesa Quick) finished third. Cory Spataro rode the home- bred gray gelding for trainer Michelle Woodley.
Deception North (Fire Finder-Snaptooit), Dash To Miami (Dash To The Arctic-Miami Movin), Mountains Echo (Wild Boyz-Time To Splash Bac), Arising Miracle (Black Moons Arising-Miracle Empress), Yawlplayingwithfire (Fire Finder-Okey Dokey Yawl), Make Me Bodacious (Bodacious Jess- Make Us A Miracle), and Sweet Pagrana (Winners Award-Lady Pagrana) completed the order of finish.

COUNTRY BOY 123

Ruth F. Barbour’s Country Boy 123, the second- fastest qualifier from the July 30 trials, earned his first stakes victory in the $22,231 Adequan Ajax
Derby Challenge finals at Ajax Downs on Aug. 14. Ridden by Cory Spataro for trainer Bryn
Robertson, Country Boy 123 came on late in the 400 yards to win by a neck in :20.030. In addition to earn- ing a 97 speed index, the bay gelding landed a spot in the $200,000 Adequan Derby Chal. Champ.-G2 at Los Alamitos on October 29.
Barbour, a resident of Hillsburgh, Ontario, Canada, acquired Country Boy 123 for $7,200 at the 2014 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The gelding was bred by Carolyn Bay of Clare, Michigan. Country Boy 123 is one of four winners from as many starters and the first stakes winner foaled by Very Dashin 123, a homebred who won the 2008 AQHA Texas Distaff Chal.-G3 at Sam Houston Race Park. His second dam, Very Striking, won the ’94 GLQHA Stallion Service Sale F.-RG3 at Mt. Pleasant Meadows. Raced exclusively at Ajax Downs, Country Boy 123 has won four of nine races and has banked $33,044, of which $28,987 has been earned this season.
Seis Zoom (Tres Seis-Eazoom) races for Richard Wincikaby and DK Training Centre. Brian Bell rode the homebred filly to second for trainer Don Reid. Do U Zoom (Jess Zoomin-Doing Some Winning), the official third-place finisher, was prepped by Greg Watson for owners Full Circle Racing and Cummings Cattle Co. Shanley Jackson rode the gelding.
Fast Buck (Teller Cartel-Miss Jess Rogue), Panther Hero (Valiant Hero-Rona Mountain), DQ’d from third to sixth was fastest qualifier Alakazaam (Mezoomn-Corona Deluxe), Bubbles Cartel Gal (Streakin Six Cartel-Bubbles Bunny), and Platinnum (Separatist-Miss Kips Streakin) completed the offi- cial order of finish.
