                                Wyoming Downs Futurity
RAISED RIGHT
by Tracy Gantz
Raised Right cost only $6,000 as a yearling, and she has already proved worth much more than her purchase price. Going into the July 31 Wyoming
Downs Futurity, Raised Right had earned $6,422, and she added another $10,387 with a victory in the event.
Blasting out of the gate on top from post 2, Raised Right and jockey Justin Vanderwoude never let anyone past them. The others stuck close at first during the 350 yards, but Raised Right pulled away to a 1/2-length vic- tory as the 5-2 favorite. She stopped the timer in :17.399. The winner’s share boosted her bankroll to $16,809.
Jorge Garfias bought Raised Right at the 2015 Los Alamitos Equine Sale, and Diana Garfias trains the filly for owner Aron Saenz. Raised Right won her July 17 trial to the Wyoming Downs Futurity in wire-to-wire style for the 3rd fastest qualifying spot. She also won her trial to the Hadley/Giles Futurity and was 4th in the finals.
Dr. Ed Allred bred Raised Right in California from stakes-placed Perfect Mom, who has produced six winners in seven starters, including stakes-placed Frosty Younger.
A & C Racing and Roping’s homebred Music
For Winners (Winners Version-Jesses Music) was 2nd under Oscar Cervantes. Chancey Spencer trains the filly, who qualified fastest in her trial, her 2nd win in 4 prior starts. Spencer also trains 3rd-placed AR Cajungutee, another A & C Racing and Roping homebred. Uriel Dominguez rode the gelding, the 2nd-fastest qualifier who won 2 previous trials and ran 2nd in the Dixie Downs Futurity. Followed by One Dashing Looker (One Dashing Eagle-Executive Looks), Riptide Rider (Winners Version-A Fast Runaway), BF One Sweet Memory (One Sweet Jess-BF Memory Lane), Version Quest (Winners Version-Louisianas Game), Oh La (TR Dasher-Proud Checker) & Tac It First (Tac It Like A Man-First Prize Paris). Red Crick Cowboy was scratched.
Wyoming Bred Derby
TDM BIG SHOOTER
by Tracy Gantz
TDM Big Shooter thrives during the summer. Last year he constructed a three-race winning streak from June through August, and he appears to be in the middle of another similar skein after taking the Wyoming Bred Derby on July 30.
Qualifying the fastest in the July 16 trials, TDM Big Shooter went favored in the final. With regular rider Oscar Cervantes aboard, the gelding shot out of the gate on top. Though the field stayed close early, TDM Big Shooter kept his head in front, winning by that margin in :17.508 for the 350 yards in a wire-to-wire finish. The gelding now has a total bankroll of $24,450.
Last year at Wyoming Downs, TDM Big Shooter captured the Wyoming Bred Futurity. He races for owner Tyson Morgan, and Steve Morgan trains him. Mike Lipp bred him from Tru Socialite, who has produced four winners in five starters.
Barely A Secret (Brindis Por Cayenne-A Secret Life) finished second but was disqualified to sev- enth for lugging in. Chelsa Bringhurst’s homebred CCB First Flyin Fool (Fit To Fly-Janeys First), originally third, was moved to second. Tyson Lusk rode CCB First Flyin Fool for trainer Travis Offret. CCB First Flyin Fool broke his maiden at Wyoming Downs in 2015.
K. C. Carden’s homebred Tosty Dash (Tempting Dash-Tostarita) was moved up to third upon the disqualification. Jesus Canales piloted the colt for trainer Alvaro Torres. Third three other times, Tosty Dash is still a maiden.
Completing the field were CD Jack Daniel Proud (BR Proudest Victory-TMZ Misbehavin), Tempting Futuro (Tempting Dash-La Futura), Nowshezalady (Brindis Por Cayenne-Hydra Matic Lady), Barely
A Secret (upon disqualification), CJ Cashin Cartel (Jess Cartel-Cashin Alyssa), Jes Zoomin Girl (Jess Zoomin-ABS Carolina Girl), and Nowtoastthelady (Brindis Por Cayenne-Now A Lady).
Wyoming Bred Maturity
A STREAKIN TRES SEIS
by Tracy Gantz
Though A Streakin Tres Seis has competed at five different tracks, he obviously prefers Wyoming Downs. All three of his lifetime victories have come at that track, including the July 31 Wyoming Bred Maturity, his first stakes victory.
The 5-year-old gelding scored his first win at Wyoming Downs in 2014. His second came in an allowance event at the track on July 17, which made him the 7-5 favorite for the Wyoming Bred Maturity.
A Streakin Tres Seis didn’t disappoint his backers. With Uriel Dominguez in the irons, he broke second, quickly took the lead, and won by daylight, his official margin 3/4-lengths. A Streakin Tres Seis completed the 400 yards in :19.682. The $7,849 winners share of the purse boosted his earnings to $19,025.
Uriel Dominguez, Sr. trains A Streakin Tres Seis for owners Daniel and Carol Lee. The Broken Leg Trust bred A Streakin Tres Seis in Wyoming from unraced A Ramblin Rose. A Streakin Tres Seis is the mare’s second starter and first winner.
Clifford Johnson bred second-place Spotmeacorona (King Corona-BCR Really Nice) and owns him with Justin Johnson. Oscar Cervantes rode the 9-year-old gelding for trainer Chad Giles. Spotmeacorona has won 11 of 35 lifetime starts.
Jesus Valenzuela piloted James Diva (Ivory James- Diva Star TB) to third for trainer Martha Maldonado and owner Pedro Mena. The 5-year-old mare won the 2013 Sweetwater Wyoming Bred Futurity.
Completing the field were Sweet American Honey (Midnight Corona-An Illusive Glance),
Jeans Lee (Mr Jesse Lee-Heavens An Effort), Fly
For McKoy (Fit To Fly-Swift Lady Duncan), VVR Calvin Labeck (Coronas Velvet-Get Down Betty Lou), Uintas Legendary (Legendary Dreamer-Uintas Queen), LS Little Sam (Cashin Man-A Special Wonder) and Eyesa Special River (Eyesa Special Slim-Streakin Camilla).
