BR RAYITO
by Luis Prieto Zamudio, translation by Speedhorse
Those classified in this category appeared
on the July 2 trials to define the best at the distance of 300 yards. There was a tie for the tenth position between FF Gracy Cartel and BR Corona Chic, both clocking :15.480, so it was decided by draw which of the two would run the consolation. Applying the procedure provided
in the Official Handbook of Rules And Regulations (Book of Rules) of the American Quarter Horse Association, result was BR Corona Chic going into the consolation.
The fastest in the consolation qualifying races was BR Rayito with :15.374 in race 9 of the second day of competitions, with Jhon Jhon SR taking second. This result set the tone for BR Rayito to emerge victorious in the finals.
It was an exemplary race, where horses and riders acted with neatness and respect from beginning to end, with the winner being the aforementioned BR Rayito (#3) who a few yards after starting demonstrated his power and speed by taking the lead well supported by Huberclein Gómez Mendoza, leaving Phenomenal Bob (#1) in second place by a neck difference and by a difference of a nose Cortez Tac (#5) in third place.
The distance was covered in :15.39 for a speed index of 82, this being the first victory BR Rayito has obtained in his brief career which consists of 5 starts of which he has also obtained 1 second and 2 third places.
The Pérez Correa Family,
owner of Cuadra Bronco
Rider, to which BR Rayito
belongs, was present at the
award ceremony to receive
