Three Times A Lady took command of the field from the start to take home the gold in the $20,000 Fresno Dash on Oct. 14. Under jockey Damian Cruz, the brown mare gave a wire-to-wire performance, finishing with a 3/4-length lead. She completed the 350 yards in a time of :17.480 and was awarded a 111 speed index.
The mare earned a winners’ share of $11,110 for owners Etelvina and Isaias Olmos and trainer Isauro Guillen, and raised her career earnings to $38,384. Although the mare is no stranger to the track, this was her first stakes winning run.
Three Times A Lady is Oklahoma bred by Adam Smith out of Turf Contender. The dam has produced three winners from her first three starters. Three Times A Lady is the first stakes winner and current leading money earner out of the dam.
Three Times A Lady’s second dam is winner Make It Work. The mare finished second in
the 2004 La Primero Del Ano Derby-G2 and Dashing Folly Handicap. She also finished
third in a handful of stakes, which included the 2004 Golden State Derby-G1 and the Southern California Derby-G1. Make It Work is a full sister to 2003 Carmel Handicap winner Truly Tia and California Hi-Point Aged Stallion Deefirst, who won the 2003 Southern California Derby-G1 and placed in four other Grade 1 events.
Three Times A Lady traces back to her third dam, Deeachick, who won the 1992 PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity-G1 and was a finalist in the 1992 QHBC Distaff Classic-G1 and Las Damas Handicap-G1.
Dollys Talent (Prime Talent-Dollys Cole Curl) and jockey Silvio Amador held on to second. The mare is bred and owned by Laura Guillen and trained by Isauro Guillen. She placed third in the Jack Robinson Stakes on July 4 at Pleasanton.
Approval Given (Kiddy Up-Just Checking) and jockey Hugo Herrera were outkicked in the stretch, finishing third. The gelding is owned by Boardshorts Stables LLC and Emilio Guerrero, who is also the trainer of the gelding. Approval Given is a multiple stakes winner, most recently winning the Cream City Dash Stakes on Aug. 27 at Ferndale.
The remaining horses in the field crossed the wire as follows: Fortunate Corona (Corona Cartel- Matabari), Blitz Chick (Stoli-Jeanifer Chick), Two Timin Taylor (Jet Black Patriot-Mystical Blue), Walk To The Top (Walk Thru Fire-Azoom To The Top). The race was hand timed.

After a couple of near-misses in stakes company, Miss Pilotos Train chugged to the first stakes win of her career, prevailing in the $30,000 Amelia Belle Stakes held Oct. 6 at Evangeline Downs.
Mike Inscore owns and bred Miss Pilotos Train, a three-year-old filly who scored her second victory in five starts in her sophomore campaign and reached the winner’s circle for the fourth time in 12 career outs. This win produced an $18,000 payday that improved the filly’s cumulative bankroll to $73,180.
Miss Pilotos Train already had black type, finishing third in both the Flashy Hemp Stakes and Audubon Stakes at Delta Downs earlier this year. Miss Pilotos Train broke well from the No. 7 gate and established herself in second, holding that position as then-leader One Delightful Tee entered the stretch. Miss Pilotos Train chased down her foe during the final yards, hitting the wire first by a neck.
Ricardo Hernandez Jr. was aboard as Miss Pilotos Train finished the 350-yard event in :17.736, posting an 88 speed index. There was a 6 mph tailwind present. Ray Robbins trains the filly.
Inscore also owns Pilotos Fast Dash, the dam of Miss Pilotos Train. The 2015 mare posted three wins in 13 starts as a competitor, mostly on the claiming circuit.
One Delightful Tee (Tee Cos-One Eyed Eagle) held on to place second for owner Norma Valles and trainer Manuel Macias. Guadalupe Lucio Jr. had the riding assignment. Glamour Dynasty (Apollitical Blood-Glamour Diva) finished third for Leonel Hernandez and Hector Menchaca. Hernandez also trains the filly, who was ridden by David Alvarez.
The remaining order of finish was Jes Winnin Cartel (Five Bar Cartel-Jes Winnin), Five Bar Joy (Five Bar Cartel-Prairie Strawfly), Sheza Bell Perry (Five Bar Cartel-De Bell Perry), Louisiana Tequila (The Louisiana Cartel-Newport Lily), One Sweet Rogue (Heza Fast Rogue-Sweet Pea Barbara TB), and Pretty Piloto (Mr Piloto-Miss Beau Windy).

Judging by his odds on the tote board, A Secret To Catch was a well-kept secret in the $20,000 Evangeline Dash Stakes. Sent off at odds of 17-1 in a field of eight, A Secret To Catch sprang the upset and recorded the first stakes win of his career with a narrow victory in the 220-yard event at Evangleline Downs on Sept. 30.
Ridden by Yaidel Rodriguez, A Secret
To Catch raced in third position early. He rallied between runners in the lane and tagged Cwfasttrack and AB Chalalo right at the finish to prevail by a nose. A Secret to Catch stopped the timer in :11.999 and earned an 88 speed index. Cwfasttrack and AB Chalalo finished in a dead heat for second.
Owned by J.W. Owens and trained by Jaime Gonzalez, A Secret To Catch improved his record to 10-3-1-0, and the $12,000 winner’s share of the purse increased his bankroll to $34,447. Bred in Oklahoma by Pine Ridge Farm LLC, the bay gelding was a $12,500 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate in 2021. He is produced out of the stakes placed mare Too Tiny To Quit.
Three-time winner Cwfasttrack (Mr Ease Cartel-BT Sheza Baby Spoon), with jockey Rene Hernandez aboard, is owned by Ocie Lee Charles and trained by Gregory Williams. Jockey David Alvarez piloted AB Chalalo (Apollitical Blood- Chalalita), who is owned by Rosendo Valdez and conditioned by Fernando Valdez.
San Lorenzo Dash(Heza Fast Das-San Lorenzo Eagle), JLA Indy Rogue (Heza Fast Rogue-French Indy-TB), Spicey One (One Dashing Eagle-Jess Spicey), Fast Dash Fortune (Heza Fast Dash-Jumpn To A Fortune), and El Camino CI (Heza Fast Dash-Eying Miss Perry) completed the order of finish.
