rive pulled off a flawless wire-to-wire victory
in the $43,945 John Deere Sweetwater Downs Juvenile Challenge on Sept. 30. The winner’s share of $21,094 increased the filly’s bankroll to $34,596 and she now has a record of three firsts, three seconds, and one third from eight starts.
With Julian Zavala in the irons, Drive broke on top, led throughout the stretch, and finished the 350 yard trip in :17.487, while earning a 99 speed index.
The sorrel filly is owned and trained by Adrian Zavala and was a finalist in the Pocatello Downs Spring Futurity in May. Drive was consigned to
the 2022 Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale by Marty Powers, Agent for breeder Flag Ranch LLC and was purchased by Zavala for $21,000.
Drive is out of Lil Baby Eagle, who placed second in the 2017 version of the Gopher State Derby. Lil Baby Eagle has produced two winners from three starters, including a half-brother to Drive named Baby I Du, whose stakes win resume includes the 2022 versions of the BHS Futurity and the Energy Downs 307 Open Futurity.
Ricardo Castillo and Rainee Browning’s Dr B (Duponte-Sister Jess) finished in second place under jockey Jose Espinoza. The sorrel colt is trained by Ricardo Castillo and was a finalist in the Hadley Giles Futurity in May.
Ridden by jockey Cesar Moreno, Attribute (Favorite Cartel-Separate Flight) finished third for owner LG Racing, LLC and trainer Luis Gonzalez. The gray filly was a finalist in the Bitterroot Futurity-G3 in July.
BC Minnie Pearl (Apollitical Spirit-Classic Pearl BC), Workin Winnie (JR Dynasty Mountain-Nellylyn), and BNB Docs Highestcard (Docs Best Card-Optimyze) completed the order of finish.

Scott aboard. The gelding is out of Had To Be Fandango, winner of the 2011 Maple Leaf Derby. She has produced 100% winners from four startes, including 3-Time Champion Had To Be Ivory.
Milena Kwiecien home-bred Valiant Chick Insnow, who also collected her third win of the
year, coming off a third place finish in the QROOI Overnight Sprint Series #3. Valiant Chick Insnow
is a Jason Pascoe trainee, who was ridden by D.I. Benitez. The filly is out of multiple winner AJ Chick In 15, who was stakes placed in the 2017 Alex Picov Memorial and Picov Derby. Valiant Chick Insnow is her first starter.
Snow Moose (Seperate Interest-Favorite Pearl), who officially finished third after the DQ, is
also owned by Kwiecien and trained by Pascoe. J. Botello had the riding assignment. The gelding won the Ontario Bred Derby and the QROOI Open Derby earlier this year and the Alex Picov Memorial Futurity last year.
The remaining official order of finish was Sour Candy (Jess Good Candy-Tayter To The Top), First Cold Wave (Cold Hard Dash-Cassies Carver), and Queen Charlotte (One Fabulous Eagle-Leanintoit).

ith a late surge, Adreamtobuildakisson
won his first stakes victory in the $44,708 Ontario Sires Stakes Derby on Oct. 18 at Ajax Downs. Piloted by jockey Ismael Mosqueira, the gelding quickly made up ground in the stretch
to take the lead. The pair ran the 350 yards over a fast track in a time of :17.763 for a speed index of97.
Breeder, owner, and trainer Angelle Carter earned a winner’s share of $17,885 from her gelding’s stakes winning run.
Adreamtobuildakisson now holds a career earnings of $47,182. The gelding has won or placed in four of his eight outs this racing season.
Adreamtobuildakisson is the leading money earner and first stakes winner out of multiple stakes placing dam Tres Seis Smooches. The dam is a 100% winner producer with four winners from four starters.
Finishing second was Firstprize Charlotte (Dashair-Ms First Prize Pearl) and jockey Alexis Sanchez. The filly is owned by Craig Spada and Rick Crispi and trained by Lauren Spada. Firstprize Charlotte won the Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity in August of 2022.
A Shades Of Cold (Cold Hard Dash-Sassy Shades Of Gray) and jockey Brian Bell gave a gutsy effort, ultimately finishing in third. The gelding
is bred and owned by Amelie Aubut and trained
by Jason Pascoe. He placed second in the QROOI Bonus Futurity in September of 2022.
The remaining order to finish was Eyes Dasha Wacky (Dashair-All Wacked Out), Admiral Nelson (Caviar And Corona-Cash Into Vegas), Stanair (Dashair-Fury Us). A Rushn Lilly, Daz Cold, and Speedy Country Mouse were all scratched by the stewards, and Tex Dynasty was scratched by the veterinarian.
