Louisiana Juvenile
HE B SWIFT

Juan Galicia made an excellent purchase at
the 2019 Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association Yearling Sale. For just $16,000 he got He B Swift, who earned $45,000 winning the $75,000 Louisiana Juvenile Stakes at Delta Downs on Aug. 22.
Ridden by Everardo Rodriguez in the 350-yard Juvenile, He B Swift broke second and quickly took the lead. Six horses came to the line almost together, but He B Swift remained in front, winning by a neck in :17.510, posting a 92 speed index.
He B Swift had already earned $15,560 in his first three starts. He broke his maiden in his rac-
ing debut and finished second in his Lee Berwick Memorial Futurity-RG1 trial.
Joel Huitron trains He B Swift for Galicia and Oscar Edel Moreno. Jim and Natalie Montgomery bred the colt in Louisiana out of stakes-placed Eye Be Swift. The mare has produced four winners in six starters. Leonardo Rodriguez piloted Runaway Stars
(Sir Runaway Dash-Jess A Special Star) to second
for owner Christian Ramos-Hernandez and trainer Miguel Rodriguez. Runaway Stars had won two
of her three previous starts. Jess Sweet Time (One Sweet Jess-Track Shaker) finished third under jockey Juan Garcia Jr. Trey Ellis trains the gelding and owns him with Roland Frederick and Cory Moulton. Jess Sweet Time now has a record of one win, two seconds, and a third in five starts.
Completing the field were Carter Winnin Edge (Carters Cartel-Streakin The Edge), Tee Britt (Tee Cos-Special Britt), A Political Rose (Apollitical Blood-Chicadee Rose), in a DH for 7th were Jessalilbit (One Sweet Jess-Princess Lil Bit) and
Hes Opentosecrets (Open Me A Corona-Oak Tree Secret), followed by Hallelujah Song (Fast Prize Jordan-Im Game Lets Play) and Cason (Heza Fast Dash-First Prize Bonnie).
Flashy Hemp Stakes
EYSA JESS JUMPN

Eysa Jess Jumpn began her 4-year-old cam- paign like she ended her sophomore season, as the brown daughter of Heza Fast Dash scored a
1/2-length victory in the $50,000 Flashy Hemp Stakes for Louisiana-bred distaffers at Delta Downs on Aug. 22.
Ridden by David Alvarez, Eysa Jess Jumpn covered 330 yards in :16.429 while making her first start since Dec. 7. Joel Huitron trains the brown filly for owner Jose Estrada Quarter Horses, which purchased Eysa Jess Jumpn for $11,000 at the 2017 Louisiana QHBA Yearling Sale.
Eysa Jess Jumpn was coming off of a 3-year-old season during which she won all nine of her starts and earned $461,767.
All told, Eysa Jess Jumpn has banked $917,537. The filly won five stakes in 2019, including the Sam Houston Derby-G3 at Sam Houston Race Park, and the Dash For Cash Derby-G2 at Lone Star Park.
D & S Racing LLC bred Eysa Jess Jumpn out of winner Jess Jumpn. She has produced three winners from four starters. Eysa Jess Jumpn is her first stakes winner. Her second dam, the Eyesa Special mare Eyesa Jumpn, won three graded stakes including the Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity-G2.
Sea Yacht Dash (Sir Runaway Dash-Yacht Sea) finished second under Donald Watson for owner Jeannie Baldwin and trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr.
Carlos Acuna’s Corona Down Perry (Coronas Leaving You-Second Down Perry) ran third under Everardo Rodriguez for trainer Martin Trejo.
Speedy Piloto Gee (Mr Piloto-Dominating Speed), Apollitical Bug (Apollitical Blood-Tinys First Bug), Cajun Cos (Tee Cos-Jls Crawfish Pie), Perry Mouse Tale (Paint Me Perry-FMJ Mouse Tale), Escandalo (Apollitical Blood-Eying Miss Perry) and Bibbity Bobbity Blue (Jess Louisiana Blue-Eight Below 123) completed the order of finish.
Flying Breed Stakes
MAG 1

Making just the second start of his 4-year-old season, Mag 1 sprinted to a nose victory in the 220-yard Flying Breed Stakes for Louisiana-breds at
Delta Down on Aug. 22.
Mag 1 clicked the electronic timer in :11.630
under jockey Rolando Cabrera. Katie Carlos saddled the bay gelding for the Mag 3 Racing partnership consisting of Henry Perez Jr., Manuel Flores Jr., and Jason S. Michot.
Raced exclusively in Louisiana, Mag 1 has won five of nine starts, and his two wins in as many outs at the 220 trip include last year’s $20,000 Evangeline Downs Dash. The $30,000 winner’s share of the purse from his second career stakes score in this event pushed his earnings to $98,320.
Mag 1 was coming off of a seventh-place finish in a 250-yard $13,500 allowance dash at Delta Downs on June 27.
H&M Racing bred Mag 1 out of Billy Montgomery Evangeline Downs Stakes Div. 1-RG3 winner Oak Tree Chic. She has produced two winners from three starters. Mag 1 is her first stakes winner.
The Cazador (Sir Runaway Dash-Told Ya) fin- ished a very close second. Donald Watson rode the five-year-old gelding for owner Rayne Knight and trainer Mike Zingelmann.
On Point (Five Bar Cartel-La Jollan Queen) ran third 1/2-length back under David for owner T M Ranch and trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr.
RF Fast Dash N Blue (Jess Louisiana Blue-Fast Dash N Deb) finished in fourth place and was followed across the wire by Hot Prize (Fast Prize Dash-Hot Dare), Brileys Prize (AJs Fast Dash-Ms Wandas Prize), Mardi Gras Paint (Paint Me Perry- Summertime Dash), Ms Diamond Prize (Fast Prize Jordan-Ms Diamond Oak), Five Bar Fast (Five Bar Cartel-PM Oh Shez Fast) and Mr Sixy Piloto (Mr Piloto-Sixy Silhouette).
