LOUISIANA DRESSBLUES

Louisiana Dressblues romped to his third career stakes win in dominant fashion, triumphing in the 870-yard $50,000 Live Oak Stakes by a whopping
margin of 8-lengths at Delta Downs on Aug. 22. There was no stopping Louisiana Dressblues in this one; the gelding opened a 1-length lead by the first call,
and then was coasting in front by 4-lengths going into the stretch. Louisiana Dressblues didn’t slow down, doubling his advantage by the time he hit the wire.
Trey Ellis saddled Louisiana Dressblues, who finished the distance in :45.835 for a 97 speed index. Juan Garcia Jr. did the riding. The win produced a $30,000 payday, improving the gelding’s cumulative bankroll to $168,960.
Wilson One Consulting LLC owns Louisiana Dressblues, a 5-year-old gelding who got to the win- ner’s circle for the seventh time in 17 career starts. His other two stakes wins came in the 2019 and 2020 runnings of the Virgil Bond Stakes, also held at Delta Downs. His repeat victory in the Virgil Bond also marked his most recent out before this race.
Easy Acres Performance Horses bred Louisiana Dressblues out of the winning Thoroughbred mare Charlomaine. She has produced 100% money earn- ers from eight starters.
Freakin Patriot Dash (Game Patriot-Freakin Dash) placed a distant second for owner/trainer Joel Huitron with jockey Ubaldo Luna in the irons.
Jess Louisiana Tee (Jess Louisiana Blue-Miss Ocean Tee) made a game run for third. The gelding is owned by Joseph Ladreneau, trained by Lanny Keith, and had Paulina Ramirez aboard.
Jessi Jam (Jet Black Patriot-Royal Rio Miss), Racing Kane (Jet Black Patriot-Ms Janas Perry), Im Mighty Fast (Mighty Corona-Sheza Fast Doll) and Dwaynes First Perry (First Prize Perry-Vals Sky High) completed the order of finish. Rio Rojo Cosino scratched.

CM ONCE INA BLUEMOON

After winning the Emerald Downs Distance Challenge last year, what would CM Once Ina Bluemoon do for a repeat act?
Win it again—and set a New Track Record in the process. CM Once Ina Bluemoon defended his 2019 title in the $26,554 stakes, held at Emerald Downs on Aug. 20.
Nick Lowe trains CM Once Ina Bluemoon, who covered the 870 yards in :45.423, one-upping the standing track record of :45.785, tallied by
Bleu Tarp on Sept. 14, 2012. The heavy post-time favorite at 3-10 odds, CM Once Ina Bluemoon dominated in his repeat run to victory in this event, opening a 3-length lead by the time he reached the first call and hitting the wire with a commanding 3 3/4-length margin of victory.
Jose Figueroa was aboard for the wire-to-wire trip, which registered a 103 speed index.
Owned by Chris A. Sutton, CM Once Ina Bluemoon now holds 12 career victories—four of them in stakes company. That stakes win total includes the past two runnings of the Emerald Downs Distance Challenge.
Randy Dickerson bred CM Once Ina Bluemoon and owns his dam, Cool Blue Corona, a 2009 mare who won three of 13 starts herself. All three of Cool Blue Corona’s foals are winners, although CM Once Ina Bluemoon is the sole stakes winner in the brood.
Flyin Rocks (Fly Chisholm Fly-Rock’s El Dorado TB) finished second for owner Gilberto Madrigal and trainer Jose Rosales Gomez. Joree Scriver drew the riding assignment.
Heza Gamer (Game Patriot-Sneak Bac) placed third under Lorenzo Lopez for owner Connie Chumbley and trainer Scott Raley.
Hes A Bugin (Sixthirteen TB-Missy Nickie Bac) and Jess B 613 (Sixthirteen TB-Jess Be Hawkin) completed the order of finish.

CM BOOM SHAKALAKA

CM Boom Shakalaka charged to his third consecutive win, and gave trainer Nick Lowe his third straight stakes victory of the day, with his
triumph in the $52,734 Bank of America Emerald Downs Championship Challenge on Aug. 20.
The heavy post-time favorite at 1-2 odds, CM Boom Shakalaka broke on top from the 9-post and led at every call of the 440-yard out, hitting the wire first by a neck. Luis Gonzalez rode CM Boom Shakalaka to victory in :22.272, posting a 94 speed index. CM Boom Shakalaka got to the winner’s circle for the 12th time in 28 lifetime starts. Owner Chris A. Sutton banked a $24,785 payday that improved the gelding’s total earnings to $151,082. CM Boom Shakalaka tallied his sixth win in stakes company, two of them coming at Emerald Downs. This marked the 18th stakes race of his career and the victory earned the gelding a spot in the Bank of America Challenge Championship-G1, taking place Oct. 24 at The Downs at Albuquerque.
Randy Dickerson bred CM Boom Shakalaka and home-bred the gelding’s dam, Mi Fames A Dandy,
a winning mare who has produced 100% winners from eight starters. CM Boom Shakalaka is her second stakes winner.
Jesstafiably Jess (One Sweet Jess-Fly Thru Time), a 14-1 longshot, finished second for owner Malon Cowgill and trainer Benito Curiel. Jose Figueroa did the riding. One Flyin Foose (Foose-One Famous Strawfly) hit the board in third for Matthew Huse. The Freddy Ibarra trainee had Jaime Lopez up.
The remaining order of finish was L Bar D Genuine Red (Genuine Strawfly-Be First Rose), Alabama Hills (Brookstone Bay-Tombstone Tina), Loosin My Lover (Sixthirteen TB-Lover Cat), Kool Odds (Favorite Cartel-Kool Kue Chick), Ima Five Bar Cartel (Five Bar Cartel-Miss Acclaimed) and Favorite Bling (Favorite Cartel-Spring Bling).
