Flashing My Pjs made her first start in the trials for the Heritage Place Futurity at Remington Park. The sorrel filly broke last from the 9-hole under Benito Baca, moved into sixth by the stretch and crossed the wire first by a neck after
a massive rally in the 350-yard trial. Although she won her heat, she did not qualify to the Grade 1 finals. Next, the sorrel filly went to Ruidoso Downs to run in a trial for the Rainbow Futurity-G1. This time, she broke mid-pack after a bobble and bump at the start under Benito Baca, and was in 2nd in the stretch and at the wire and did not qualify. Her next start was in the All American Futu- rity trials, where she drew the 2-gate. Flashing My Pjs, under regular rider Benito
Baca, broke on top and was never headed, crossing the wire first, impressively, by 1 3/4-lengths for the top qualifying spot. Trained by John Stinebaugh, Flashing My Pjs was bred by D. Bowen, S. Taylor and J. Smith Farms and is owned
by the Flashing My PJ’s Partnership. Flashing My Pjs is by Champion First Moonflash, AQHA’s only stallion with 10 Graded stakes wins and 4 New World Records. He is a 3-time Champion sire of over $19.6 million, including 2019 Champion Flash And Roll and multiple Champion and All Amerian Futurity winner Handsome Jack Flash. Flashing My Pjs is out of Champion PJ Chick In Black and is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Hes Limitless (2020, $468,582).
Instygator made an amazing racing debut in a maiden race at Remington Park in April, winning his first out by 2-lengths under James Flores. Next, Instygator competed in trials for the Heritage Place Futurity where he won his heat by an impressive 3 1/4-lengths, annihilating the field, again under James Flores and qualifying to the finals. In the $826,260 Heritage Place Futurity-G1, Instyga- tor, was ridden by Ricky Ramirez. Drawing the 6-post, the gelding broke mid- pack, was 2nd in the stretch, then dueled with the leaders and was 3rd across the wire. Instygator then moved to Ruidoso to compete in the All American
Futurity trials. From the 8-gate, Instygator broke on top despite being brushed at the start and maintained his lead throughout for a wire-to-wire victory with a 3 1/4-length margin, again under James Flores, for the second overall clock- ing. Instygator is trained by Jaime Hernandez for owner Jose Guzman. The gelding was bred by Bobby D. Cox. Instygator is by Champion sire/Champion broodmare sire Ivory James, sire of over $17 million. The gelding is out of stakes placed winner Eye Popping. Instygator is a half-sibling to Heritage Place Futurity-G1 winner Shott Gun and Champion in Mexico Maybellina.
