  Homebred Apollitical Gold made his first start in a maiden race at Remington Park in March, finishing third under Justine Klaiber. Next, he stepped into trials for the Remington Park Futurity, where he had a good late rally and was second, again ridden by Justine Klaiber. Apollitical Gold then moved to Ruidoso Downs where he ran in trial for the Rainbow Futurity, but was second best under Jimmy Brooks and did not qualify to the finals. In the All American Futurity trials, Apollitical Gold drew the outside 10-post. Ridden by Jimmy Brooks, the gelding was fourth out of the gates and was in the
lead at the top of the stretch to cross the wire first by 1 1/4-lengths, scoring the third fastest overall time. Eddie D. Willis trains Apolliti- cal Gold for breeder/owner Grant R. Cox Revocable Trust. Apollitical Gold is by World Champion Apollitical Jess, a multiple Champion sire of more than $34.6 million including 2018 All American Futu- rity winner Apocalyptical Jess, 2019 All American Futurity winner Mr Jess Jenkins and All American Derby winners Apollitical Blood (2015) and Hold Air Hostage (2017). The gelding is out of lightly raced SRC Gold.

Race record: 3-2-0-1 • Day 2, Race #7 • Eagles And Dragons and regular rider Jaime Leos win their trial by 1 1/2-lengths after a hand ride.
  Eagles And Dragons, with the 4th overall clocking, is the only All American Fu- turity qualifier to begin his career at Ruidoso Downs. The sorrel gelding made his racing debut on the mountain in a trial for the Mountain Top New Mexico Bred Futurity. Eagles And Dragons drew the outside 10-post and grabbed the lead in the stretch to finish an impressive 2 1/4-lengths in front at the wire, but did not qualify to the finals. Next, the gelding competed in trials to the Zia Futurity for New Mexico breds, where he won after lugging out and drifting badly under Jaime Leos. He was disqualified from 1st to 3rd for interference
after a steward’s inquiry. Eagles And Dragons looked ahead to the All American Futurity trials. Drawing the 3-post, he was 4th out at the break, and quickly took the lead by first call. He held his lead and crossed the wire in front by 1 1/2-lengths after a hand ride by regular rider Jaime Leos. Eagles And Dragons is trained by Juan Gonzales for owner Joe Rios. The gelding, who was bred by Nahum Prieto, is by multiple graded stakes winner Zulu Dragon, a Champion sire from limited starters. Eagles And Dragons is out of stakes finalist Effortless Eagle, and is a full sibling to 2020 Zia Futurity-RG1 finalist Hatchi Zulu.
