HR Princess Jess made her first start in the Remington Park Futurity trials in April. The filly led throughout, but was caught at the wire finishing 2nd and did not qualify. The filly then competed in the trials for the Heritage Place Futurity. The filly drew the 6-gate, broke 2nd, was in 3rd at the first call, had the lead in the stretch to cross the wire on top by 1-length, qualifying to the finals. In the $826,260 Heritage Place Futurity-G1, HR Princess Jess broke 9th from the 8-post and chased rivals to finish 5th. After this, she moved to Ruidoso Downs and competed in trials for the Rainbow Futurity. She broke on top from the
5-gate and was never headed, crossing the wire with a 2 1/2-length margin, but did not qualify to the finals. In the All American Futurity trials, HR Princess Jess drew the outside gate. Under regular rider Jimmy Brooks, HR Princess Jess broke 2nd and maintained her position to finish 2nd best. Trained by Eddie D. Willis for owner Larry L. Rice, HR Princess Jess is by multiple Champion sire, World Champion Apollitical Jess, sire of All American Futurity winners Apoca- lyptical Jess and Mr Jess Jenkins and All American Derby winners Apollitical Blood and Hold Air Hostage. She is out of stakes winner HR Ebony Princess.

Whistle Stop Cafe is the richest of the All American Futurity quali- fiers. Undefeated from four starts coming into the trials, the gray filly began her career at Remington Park in the trials to the Heritage Place Futurity, winning that trial by a neck and qualifying to and winning the $100,000 Heritage Place Juvenile by a nose.
Whistle Stop Cafe then went to Ruidoso Downs for the Rainbow Futurity trials, where she won her heat by 1 3/4-lengths to qualify and win the $1 million Grade 1 finals by a 3/4-lengths. In her trial
heat to the All American Futurity, Whistle Stop Cafe broke second from the 5-post and had a 1/2-length lead at the first call, maintain- ing that margin throughout to win under Ricky Ramirez. The filly goes into the finals with the sixth overall fastest clocking. Whistle Stop Cafe is by Graded stakes winner Freighttrain B, sire of nearly $9 million. The filly is out of stakes placed winner Sinuous and is
a half-sister to five additional blacktype runners including Grade 3 winner So Rapido.
