                 RGS Gold Wagon’s winning connections include owner Mauricio Garza, trainer Janessa Muniz and jockey Edgar Mata.
Wagon won his Nov. 18 trial heat by 1 1/2-lengths, setting the second fastest qualifying time.
Earlier this year, he placed third in the Easy Jet Stakes at Remington Park on
May 28. He also had a fourth place finish in the Dash For Cash Futurity-G2 at Lone Star on Oct. 1. His other two wins were from his trial heats for the Dash For Cash Futurity and the Speedhorse Futurity.
His team includes owner Mauricio Garza and trainer Janessa Muniz. He was bred in Oklahoma by Roy Garza out of the winning Ja Gols Debutante. She has produced one winner from her two starters, RGS Gold Wagon is her only stakes winner.
RGS Gold Wagon’s second dam is the winning Ja Sofisticated Lady. She has produced five winners from her six starters, including stakes winner Ja Sundance who won the 2010 Bugs Alive In 75 Stakes.
He traces back to his third dam, With Open Arms, a winner and a finalist in the 1986 Heritage Place Futurity-RG2. She earned $32,611 during her racing career.
She has produced 10 winners from 11 starters, with three stakes winners including Ja
Windchaser, who won the 2008 Manor Downs Derby-G2 and was a finalist in the 2009
East Championship Challenge-G2 and the Barnmaster Sprint Stakes-RG3. With
Open Arms was also the dam of Northside Debutante who won the 1995 Delta Downs Texas Futurity and Open With Love winner of the 1998 TQHA Sires’ Cup Stakes-RG3 and the 1997 QHRA of Indiana Derby. She also set a New Track Record in 1997 at Hoosier Park for 400 yards.
RGS Gold Wagon’s sire is Prized Wagon, who placed second in the 2015 Black Gold 350 Futurity. In 2016 he placed third in
the Altoona Derby and the Iowa Double Gold Derby. He was a finalist in the 2015 Heritage Place Futurity-G1. He earned $198,936 during his racing career.
Prized Wagon has sired 23 winners from 36 starters including one stakes winner, RGS Gold Wagon, and two stakes placed. His stakes placed runners include Prized Dimon, who placed second in the 2022 Sam’s Town Stakes and Jewels Wagon, who placed third in the 2022 Fair Meadows Maturity.
Sixth fastest qualifier, Delight Interest (Seperate Interest-Volcoms Delight), won
his trial heat. In the finals he overcame a generic break with a gritty performance down the lane to finish second under jockey Jose Herbert. He is owned by Triple Five and trained by Josue Ponce. Delight Interest sold for $30,000 at the 2021 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.
Elisas Esperance (Jumpn Chic- Esperance) fought the good fight to finish third. She is owned by Bradley C. Bolen, Cole M. Clinger and Jose H. Rodriguez. Bradley Bolen is in charge of training, and he handed the riding assignment to Noe Garcia Jr. The filly placed fourth in the New Mexico Classic Futurity-G2 at Zia Park on Oct. 30.
Completing the remaining order of finish was Shakers No Secret (Five Bar Cartel-Shaker Secret), Unome Valentine
(A Dashing Valentine-Unome Love TB), Macsimizer (One Dashing Eagle-Sassie Wagon), DQ’d from 3rd to 7th was Daddy Caliente (Big Daddy Cartel-Valiant Flame), Dakota Gurl (Muddy Watters-Runaway Charli), Runaway Wildfire (Walk Thru Fire-Runaway Preslee) and Jes Winnin Cartel (Five Bar Cartel-Jes Winnin).
