CB COME FLY WITH ME

CB Come Fly With Me rattled off three consecu- tive wins at Indiana Grand last year as a 2 year old, including a score in the QHRAI SSA Futurity.
The filly has picked right up where she left off last year, having now won back-to-back outs taking the top prize in the Blue River Derby on July 29.
Trained by Erin Thompson & ridden by Rolando Pina, CB Come Fly With Me drew clear after the start, opening up by 1 1/2-lengths early. She remained clear through the lane and held late, winning the 400-yards by 1/2-length and stopping the timer in :19.951 for a 92 speed index. The win marked her 6th from 11 starts and the $69,300 win- ner’s share boosted her total bankroll to $224,048.
An Indiana homebred for Carolyn Bruce, CB Come Fly With Me is out of 2-time winner Miss Scarlet. The mare has produced 100% money earners from five starters, including multiple stakes winner/ top earner Stinkin Rich.
Seventh fastest qualifier Kid Cartel (Kool
Quick Kid-Cartels Glass Sliper) finished second. Cristian Esqueda rode the runner-up for trainer Julio Almanza and owner Adriana G. Almanza. The geld- ing won last year’s Hazel Park Futurity.
Fifth fastest qualifier HH Kentucky Krome (La Jollaroid-Shakem Jake) was awarded third place. Oscar Macias piloted the gelding for owner Craig Zeneberg and trainer Anthony Cunningham. The gelding was coming off a win in his July 8 trial heat.

SR Shambles name certainly doesn’t describe his racing style, as he made an orderly wire-to-wire run in the $108,800 Heartland Futurity at Indiana Downs July 29, making short work of eight rivals in the 300-yard race.
The fastest qualifier from the July 8 trials, SR Shambles turned the Heartland Futurity into a one-horse race. He left the gate running and on top for jockey David Pinon. SR Shambles maintained
a clear advantage through the lane and won in a hand ride, crossing the finish a 1/2-length clear of runner-up Dicey Dream, who chased the winner throughout under Juan Pulido.
Registering the first stakes win of his career, SR Shambles stopped the timer in :15.467, earning a 97 speed index. The $59,840 winner’s share boosted
SR Shambles’ cumulative earnings to $77,127. His connections include owner Cynthia Allen and trainer Jeannette Hoover.
SR Shambles was bred in Oklahoma by Jovetta Meredith out of 2-time winner Parisz. The mare has produced 100% money earners from three starters. SR Shambles is her top earner and first stakes winner.
Dicey Dream (No Secrets Here-WRS Dare To Dream) finished second under Juan Pulido for owner Williams Racing Corp. and trainer Randy Smith. El Candyman (Cartels Candy Man-A Royal Mystery) finished third under Jose Ruiz for owner Sujely Borjas and trainer Hipolito Bueno.

TOMMY THE TRAIN

Undefeated at Indiana Grand Race Course with
a perfect four for four, and now two of those in stakes action, Tommy The Train was the second fast-
est qualifier to the Indiana Grand QHRAI Derby after winning his June 24 trial by 1 1/2-lengths.
In the July 8 finals, Tommy The Train, under James Flores, broke well from the 9-post and took the lead at the first call. The pair continued to distance themselves from the pack, crossing the wire an impressive 2 1/4-lengths in front. They crossed the line at :19.342 for the 400 yards, earning a career best 109 speed index and setting a New Track Record.
The gelding earned first place money of $44,825, bringing his total bankroll to $151,413 and a race record of six wins from ten starts, including a first in the 2016 Governor’s Stakes. His connections include owners Brant & Jon Barley and Brad Sharp and trainer Larry Sharp.
Tommy The Train was bred in Missouri by Duane Murphy out of multiple stakes winner Okie Dokey Annie, who set a New Track Record at Will Rogers Downs for 350 yards and was winner of the 2006 Kansas Futurity-G2. She has produced 100% money earners from five starters, including multiple graded stakes winner/top earner Sudden Separation.
Fastest qualifier Jess Kool Lady (Apollitical Jess- Rustys Kool Lady) was 2nd for owner Enrique Ibarra & trainer Victor Olivo. Giovani Vazquez-Gomez was aboard. Inundated (First Wrangler-Delightful Jess) held on to finish in 3rd under Juan Galvan. She is owned
