by Danny Camp
One Hot Flame showed his class as he won the Louisiana Juvenile Stakes, a 350-yard contest for two year olds, at Delta Downs on July 9. The

One Hot Flame stepped away from the number three post and got the first call with Manuel Gutierrez aboard. The gelding went wire-to-wire and crossed the line 1/2- length in front to stop the clock at :17.595 for a speed index of 89.

Live Oak Stakes
B AND G FAST DASH
by Danny Camp
The fastest way from one point to the next is a straight line. Horses and riders competing around the hook know that the fastest way to the finish line is on the rail. Competitors were looking for that straight line in the $50,000 Live Oak Stakes, which was contested at 870 yards at Delta Downs on July 9.
When B And G Fast Dash stepped away from the number two post, all was well. The 4-year-old gelding and rider Donald Watson gave an impres- sive performance, crossing the wire 5 1/2-lengths in front. They stopped the timer at :45.163, earning a speed index of 104.
With the $30,000 winner’s share, B And G Fast Dash has now earned a total of $116,470 and holds a race record of five wins from 17 outs for owner Oscar Rohne and trainer Kenneth Roberts.
B And G Fast Dash was bred in Louisiana by B&G Group Investments, Inc. and becomes the second stakes winner out of Rita Regent. The mare has produced five winners from seven starters, including her top earner multiple stakes winner La Mos Chingono.
Game On (Game Patriot-My Own Fortune)
and jockey J. Ramirez rallied late and were able to hold on for second place for owner Yamia Grillo and trainer Yoani Abreu.
Third place went to JLS Book Of Psalms (First Prize Perry-Psalmist), who ran a solid race for his connections that include owner JLS Speed Horse Ranch, Inc. and trainer Lanny Keith. Lucas Constantin was handling the reigns.
