TAC MY TIME

Making just his second lifetime start, Tac My Time graduated from the maiden ranks and became a stakes winner at the same time, taking
down top prize in the $50,000 Sam Houston Juvenile at Sam Houston Race Park on April 23.
Dismissed at odds of 12-1, Tac My Time battled with Sochi Special for supremacy early in the 330- yard dash. They continued their duel the length of the lane, with Tac My Time receiving each call and narrowly prevailing at the finish.
In winning by a neck on the line under Nestor Duran, Tac My Time stopped the clock in :16.772 and earned a speed index of 96.
Tac My Time had finished second in his career debut in the Sam Houston Futurity trials. Trained by Leon Bard, Tac My Time is owned by Marco X. Ramirez and Gary W. Hartstack and was bred in Texas by Chris Ables. The brown 2-year-old gelding is the first starter, first winner and initial stakes winner for his unraced dam, Timer Opener.
Sochi Special (Ivory James-RC Shake Em Blue) finished second in her April 2 trial and was in second place in the finals as well. Francisco Calderon piloted the gray filly for trainer Leon Bard and owner Pamela Stone.
Jess A TR (TR Dasher-Love Ya Miss Jess) finished third in his trial for the Sam Houston Futurity and secured the show spot once again under Manuel Gutierrez. Esteban Rubio saddled the sorrel colt for owner Julio Cesar Rodriguez.
Ivory Wish (Ivory James-Joyalty), JMF Dashing (Tempting Dash-Shamefully), Fancy Mamacita (Pappasito-Ace Zoomin Fancy), Valiant Zoom (Mighty B Valiant-A Crimson Zoom), San Lorenzo Eagle (One Famous Eagle-Bodacious Dream) and Ty Perry (Mr Jess Perry-Jump Down First) completed the order of finish.

IMFLASHINTHECHICKS

Imflashinthechicks hasn’t been seen on the racetrack much in the last two years, but when he does sur- face, pay attention. He made one start in 2015, win- ning the Colors of Houston Paint Maturity-G2 and
now one year later, he made it back-to-back stakes wins with another dominant score in this year’s renewal of the $19,000 Colors of Houston Paint Maturity-G2 at Sam Houston Race Park on April 16.
With Manuel Gutierrez riding, Imflashinthechicks bounded clear after the start, quickly putting 1-length on the competition in the 350-yard test. The 5-year-old gelding stretched his advantage to as many as 3-lengths in the lane and crossed the finish a 2 3/4-length victor as the odds-on race favorite. He stopped the clock in :17.812, earning a 91 speed index. With the $11,210 winner’s share, his bankroll stands at $176,707.
Trained by Esteban Rubio for owner Racin RNs, Imflashinthechicks has now won 9 of 18 starts, including 4 stakes, and was the 2013 APHA World Champion, Champion 2 Year Old & Champion 2-Year-Old Gelding.
Imflashinthechicks was bred by Shirley Wheeler in Oklahoma out of multiple stakes finalist Game Chicken. The mare is a 100% Champion producer. Beside Imflashinthechicks, she is the dam of 2-time World Champion Flashthechicks, 4-time Champion Imachickenkicker and Champion Imahotchicken.
Runaway Pecos (Mr Streakaway-La Pecosa)
was 2nd under Alejandro Medina for trainer Jorge Mendoza and owners Ramon Escamilla & Jorge Luis Mendoza. Cat Scratch Dash (Country Quick Dash- Cat Scratch Fefurr) was 3rd under Pedro Espinosa for trainer Alvin Francis Jr. and owner Martha Nevarez. Followed by Camo Cowgirl, (Awesome Chrome-Dial Judy), D D Phemister (Dos Poruno-Glendas Flashy Cash), Jay Eff Kay (Streak and Dash-Eff Bee Eye), Full of Marbles (Eye Full of Cash-All the Marbles), and Caleb Reed (Intrinsic Value-Bat Them Eyes).

FIRE ON THE FLY

Odds-on favorite, Fire On The Fly, a 6-year-old gray gelding, scored the win in the $20,700 Zoetis Sam Houston Race Park Distance Challenge
on April 9. He’s now made it three consecutive wins, and two stakes wins, with a hard-fought victory in this 870-yard marathon stakes.
Ridden by Donell Blake, Fire On The Fly dueled from start to finish with Stolis Pro and jockey Francisco Calderon, with the latter showing the way early. Fire On The Fly refused to give up, however, and fought bravely to the finish,` and he ultimately put his head in front when it mattered most at the wire. Fire On The Fly stopped the timer in :45.703, good for a 98 speed index. Tommy Bullard saddled the winner, who is a homebred for Bullard Farms.
Fire On The Fly earned the $10,350 winner’s share, making his current bankroll $171,406. From 28 starts, the gelding now has 11 firsts and 5 stakes wins including in the Sunland Distance Challenge-G3, Marathon Stakes, and two in the Governor’s Cup Marathon.
Fire On the Fly is the top earner and second stakes winner out of the 2-time winning Thoroughbred mare Shades Of Pink, who banked $37,255 on the track. She is the dam of 100% money earning QH
& TB foals, including additional QH stakes winner Pink Cartel and TB stakes placed Shady Caller.
Stolis Pro (Stoli-Viva Jean) battled the entire con- test and finished 2nd a head behind under Francisco Calderon for owner Jerry Windham and trainer Leon Bard. Bling Bling Bok (Boknaai-Shiny Creek Dancer) ran a steady 3rd under Luis Vivanco, but never threat- ened the leaders, finishing another 7 3/4-lengths back for owner John Boegner & trainer John Boegner Jr. Followed by Speed Bok (Boknaai-Wish I Dustem), EC Cartel (Tinys First Corona-Twayna Too), and Dashers Midnight (Some Dasher-Sheza Moon Bar Baby). Jack Ketel & Snowbound Cowboy scratched.
