Bred in California by Steve Burns DVM, Foose Lodge was sold to Reyes for $19,000 at the 2020 Heritage Place Yearling Sale.
Foose Lodge is produced from the A Classic Dash mare Classic Sassy Chic, a multiple graded stakes winner.
In a stellar racing career, Classic Sassy Chic won 10 of 25 starts and amassed earnings of $221,377 for Ron and Anna MacPhearson. In 2002, she won the AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship-G1 at Lone Star Park, the Belmont Shore Handicap-G3, the California Juvenile Challenge-G3 and the California Breeders Freshman Stakes, all at Los Alamitos.
Speedhorse Derby runner-up Heavven Lee (PYC First Fancy Lee-Arctic Winter TB) and jockey James Flores dueled with the winner from the start and was clearly second-best of the field. The chestnut filly, who was bred
in Oklahoma by Renee Wilson and Clint Crawford, races for Victor Manuel Orozco and is trained by Carlos Moreno. She captured her trial heat and is a four-time winner.
Multiple graded stakes winner Docs Dusty Cartel (Coronado Cartel-Docs Dusty Dale) and jockey Rolando Raudales chased the top pair across the finish line, checking in third for owner and breeder Dusty Rose Ranch
and trainer Stacey Capps. The Oklahoma homebred finished second to Heavven Lee in his July 9 trial heat and the bay colt is a five- time winner in his career. Numbered among
his victories are wins in last year’s Speedhorse Futurity-G3 at Fair Meadows, the FL Lady Bug Stakes-G3 at Remington Park, and the Oklahoma Horsemen’s Association Mystery Futurity-G2 at Will Rogers Downs.
Dreams Of The Heart (Coronado Cartel- Answer The Dream), Suzy De Capi (Capo
De Capi-Shaken Pappasito), Shy Kisser (Kiss My Hocks-Shyam La Jolla), RI Drifter (Flare For Ivory-Jesses Angel), Hardly Any Interest (Seperate Interest-Hardly Hateful), Igotta Good Candy (Jess Good Candy-Igottagoodee), and Ree (Apollitical Jess-Scared) completed the order of finish.
