  Flashy Hemp Stakes

atrick Richardson’s Sheza Freighttrain T was a
prompt 6-5 favorite in the $50,000 Flashy Hemp Stakes at Delta Downs on July 16. This is the second year in a row that she has won the Flashy Hemp Stakes.
Ridden by Ali Rivera for trainer Robi Meche, Sheza Freighttrain T led at every call enroute to a 1 1/2-length victory over 47-1 longshot Five Bar Miracles. The 4-year-old brown daughter of Freighttrain B covered 330 yards in :16.527 while earning a 95 speed index from her eighth career stakes win.
The $30,000 first prize share of the purse brought her earnings to $537,205. She has won 13 of 21 races, including six of seven at Delta Downs. Out of 15 stakes races, she has only placed third once, and worse than third once. She has three stakes wins this year, including the Mother’s Day Stakes. She has also won the Selma Stakes this year, making it the second year in a row to win both the Selma and Flashy Hemp.
Richardson purchased Sheza Freighttrain T for $50,000 at the 2019 LQHBA Yearling Sale. She is out of unraced Cloning Around, who has produced two winners from three starters with Sheza Freighttrain T being her first stakes winner.
Five Bar Miracles (Five Bar Cartel-Expect Miracles) finished second under Noe Castaneda for owner Mark Kendrick, who also trained the sorrel 5-year-old mare.
Lifeinthefastlanes (Jess Louisiana Blue- Pantherinthefastlane) finished third for owner Paragon Farms LLC. David Alvarez rode the multiple graded stakes winning 5-year-old mare for trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr.
Dashing Jess Cuervo (Jess Cuervo-Dashing Well), JRS Carters Queen (Carters Cartel-Queen Djenne), Escandalo (Apollitical Blood-Eying Miss Perry), JLA Indy Rogue (Heza Fast Rogue-French Indy), Tee Zo (Tee Cos-Sayin The Blues), and JLS Zoom N Boom (Prospect To The Top-Shaken Thru Zoom) followed. Get It Done Babe scratched.

asons Jet Black became a multiple stakes
winner as the 5-year-old gelding sped to a 3/4-length victory in the $50,000 Live Oak Stakes for Louisiana-breds at Delta Downs on July 16.
Prepped by Juan Cano for owner Gidget Dugas and sent to post as the 5-1 third choice in the
field of eight, Masons Jet Black stopped the timer in :46.779, posting an 86 speed index. Paulina Ramirez rode the sorrel gelding.
The $30,000 winner’s share of the Live Oak Stakes purse increased his bankroll to $133,623. The gelding’s two stakes victories include last year’s 870-yard Governor’s Cup Marathon Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park.
Masons Jet Black was bred by Trey Ellis. The gelding is out of winner Ruston Kitty TB, who was a runner-up in the 2012 Louisiana Bred Premier Night Bon Temps starter stakes and banked $142,242 in her racing career. She has produced 100% winners from two starters. Masons Jet Black is her first stakes winner.
Sarahs Patriot (Game Patriot- Sarahsintomischief), the 3-2 favorite, finished second under jockey Juan Francisco Garcia Jr. The 4-year-old mare took home $10,000 from his second place share of the purse for owner Gilbert Matthews and trainer Phillip Calais Jr.
One Fast Cajun (Heza Fast Dash-Cajun Rocket) ran third, 3-lengths behind Masons Jet Black, under jockey Ubaldo Luna. The 4-year-old gelding pocketed $5,500 for owners Darrin and Norman Ladner, and trainer Danny Hoda.
Midnight Biscuit (Game Patriot-Biscuit Eater) was fourth and was followed by Lolas Lil Ed (Divide The Cash-Loretta Loretta), Jess Louisiana Boo (Jess Louisiana Blue-La Boo Con), Freighttrain Z (Freighttrain B-Z Smoke), and Agoutis Snowplow (Agouti-Elainas Snowplow).

B Racing Stables’ Domniksmiraclebaby rallied to
win the 220-yard $50,000 Flying Breed Stakes for Louisiana-bred sprinters at Delta Downs on July 16. Domniksmiraclebaby defeated 5-2 favorite San Lorenzo Dash by a head in :11.851 while recording
his first stakes victory and posting a 93 speed index for trainer Gilberto Rosales. Arturo Alvarez rode the sorrel 4-year-old gelding.
Domniksmiraclebaby was claimed by CB Racing Stables for $10,000 at Louisiana Downs on March 23. He has won all three of his races and has banked $60,600 since the claim. All told, he has won five
of 16 outs, including three of six at the 220-yard distance, and the $30,000 winner’s share of the Flying Breed Stakes purse boosted his earnings to $86,230.
The gelding is out of winner Martinis Jewel,
who has produced five winners from eight starters. Domniksmiraclebaby is her first stakes winner. He traces back to his third dam, Martini Mongo, a daughter of the Jet Deck stallion Mongo Jet who won the 1980 Florida Bred Derby at Pompano Park.
Less than 3/4-length separated the first five finishers. Runner-up San Lorenzo Dash (Heza Fast Dash-San Lorenzo Eagle) earned $10,000 for owner Rogelio Marquez Jr., who also bred the sorrel 3-year- old filly. Trainer Jesus M.
