  Silver Eagle Stakes

ealarunner secured his first stakes victory in
the $43,750 Silver Eagle Stakes at Retama Park on July 1.
Ridden by Francisco Giles, the gelding broke in third from the inside post and quickly grabbed the lead. Hes No Ilusion made a play for first, but was out dueled by Dealarunner, who won by 3/4-length.
Bred, owned and trained by Mario Rodiguez, Dealarunner completed the 330 yards in :16.968, while posting a 98 speed index.
The $26,250 winner’s share of the purse boosted his lifetime earnings to $70,655 and he now has a race record of 8-4(1)-2-0.
Before this victory, he was a finalist in the Sam Houston Derby-G3 and Dash For Cash Juvenile.
Mario Rodriguez bred Dealarunner out of multiple winner Elle Of A Girl, who was a finalist in the 2006 Manor Downs Derby-G2. She has produced six winners from seven starters, including Penny Ellis Jr, who was a runner-up in the 2012 TQHA Futurity. Dealarunner is her first stakes winner.
Hes No Ilusion (The Louisiana Cartel-Jess An Illusion) fought the good fight to finish second under Claudio Aguilar for owner Jerry Windham and trainer Lewis Jordan. The gelding was coming off a second place finish in the June 4 Leon Bard Memorial at Sam Houston.
Trained by Kie Mushinski, DM Preacher Man (A Revenant-Mary La Jolla) and jockey Froylan Ramirez ran a steady and even race to bank third place money for owner/breeder Donna Mushinski. The gelding has won or placed in six races from 11 starts.

Bella Mia), JB Shiner Bok (Boknaai-Streakin N Dancin), The Cartels Cadillac (Carters Cartel- Louisiana Cadillac) and Knowtorius (Freighttrain B-Shescheckinmout) completed the order of finish. Desirio B Quick scratched.
Selma Stakes

Richardson’s Sheza Freighttrain T score a wire-to-wire victory in the $44,250 Selma Stakes for fillies and mares at Retama Park on July 2.
Ridden by Ali Rivera for trainer Jason Driver, Sheza Freighttrain T raced against a reported 15-mph head wind, covering 350 yards in :17.623 and posting a 102 speed index. Her winning margin was 3/4-lengths over Rainbow To Roses. The 4-year-old daughter of the PYC Paint Your Wagon stallion Freighttrain B earned the $26,550 winner’s share of the purse from her second stakes victory of the season.
Sheza Freighttrain T has banked $63,546 from four outs this season, and her two wins include a
1 3/4-length victory in the Mother’s Day Stakes at Delta Downs on May 21. All told, the filly has won 12 of 20 starts - including seven stakes - and she has earned $507,205.
Bred in Louisiana by Rusty J. Trahan, she was purchased by Richardson for $50,000 at the 2019 LQHBA Yearling Sale. The mare is out of Cloning Around, an unraced 10-year-old daughter of Champion Carters Cartel.
Rainbow To Roses (Apollitical Blood-CC Seis) finished 2nd and pocketed $8,850 for her owner Danny Joe Miller. Luis Vivanco rode the homebred sophomore filly for trainer Toby Keeton. SS Classyjess (Rock Solid Jess-High Class Broad), the 6-5 favorite in the field of 7, ran 3rd for her owner, Edgar Rosales. Juan Ignacio Garcia rode the 6-year- old mare for trainer Jose Carrizales. Followed by
VP Cold Strong Heart (This Cartel Is Cold-Double Dashing Girl), Lethal White Veil (Lethal Corona-Lil Famous Dash), Jess A Dashin Angela (Dash Master Jess-Mi Angela), and Kiss Me Suzy (Kiss My Hocks- Ode To Suzy). Class With Flash, JJS Call and La Inseparable were scratched.
King William Stakes

seven, Bobby D. Cox’s Shott Gun won the $43,750 King William Stakes at Retama Park on July 2.
Shott Gun defeated 10-1 longshot Hennessy XO TLC by a neck in :17.721 while racing against a reported 15-mph head wind, posting a 99 speed index from his third lifetime stakes victory. Gilbert Ortiz rode the homebred 4-year-old Valiant Hero gelding for trainer Heath Taylor.
Shott Gun has won eight of 15 starts, including three of three at the 350-yard trip, and the $26,250 winner’s share of the $43,750 purse bumped his bankroll to $569,759.
The gray gelding was bred in Texas, and he is out of Eye Popping, a winning and multiple stakes placed homebred daughter of the Dash For Cash stallion Mr Eye Opener. The gelding’s second dam, the stakes-winning and graded stakes placed Mr Jess Perry mare Shes Jess Special, produced four stakes winners including White Or Wrong, a full sister
to Eye Popping who won the 2007 All American Juvenile Invitational at Ruidoso Downs.
Ridden by Victor Urieta Jr., runner-up Hennessy XO TLC (The Louisiana Cartel-XO Kate) earned $8,750 to bring his bankroll to $81,909 from 11
outs for his owner, Jorge Haddad, who also trained the 4-year-old gelding. Scarlett Hill Farm’s Won Famous Dash (Giorgino-Lil Famous Dash) pocketed the $4,813 third-place share of the purse to boost his earnings to $167,068 from 17 races. Nestor Duran rode the homebred 4-year-old gelding for trainer Marc Jungers.
Dyno Man (FDD Dynasty-Our Miss Perry), Special Apollitical (Apollitical Jess-Scouts Special Wagon), Watch Him B Famous (One Famous Eagle-Lady Lilia), and Relentless Jack (Hes Relentless-Shezafasterthanjack) completed the order of finish. Tee Britt scratched.
