ig Dynasty, a 4-year-old son of Champion FDD
Dynasty racing for owner Ramon Calvillo Jr., pulled away from his competition in the stretch to win the $43,750 Tower of the Americas Stakes at Retama Park on July 2.
Racing against a reported 12-mph head wind and sent to post as the 1-2 favorite in a field of seven middle-distance specialists, Big Dynasty covered 550 yards in :27.871 while defeating 16-1 longshot Handin Out Candy by 1 1/4-lengths.
Big Dynasty earned a 95 speed index and
the $26,250 winner’s share of the purse from his first career stakes victory. Ali Rivera rode the bay gelding for trainer Jason Driver.
Raced in two states, including Louisiana, Big Dynasty has won three of six starts and has banked $67,620. His record includes a third-place finish
in last year’s 440-yard $205,000 Dash For Cash Derby-G3 at Lone Star Park.
The gelding was bred in Texas by Michael S. Partin. He is out of Delightfully Tres, a homebred winning and stakes-placed daughter of Champion Tres Seis and a finalist in the 2009 Rainbow Futurity-G1 at Ruidoso Downs.
McGehee Horse and Cattle LLC’s Handin Out Candy (Jess Good Candy-Ole Auntie Em) earned the $8,750 runner-up share of the purse. Trainer Justin Powell had jockey Juan Garcia aboard the sophomore gelding. The Grand Legend (FDD Going Grand-Legendary Seis) ran third under jockey Noe Villatoro. The 6-year-old gelding banked $4,812
for his owner James C. Whitener LLC and trainer Jimmy Padgett.
Chick Kisser (Kiss My Hocks-Political Chick), Eye Am Tuff (Carters Cartel-Loves Easter Bunny), Fleeting Funds (Zoomin For Bux-Quick Way Holme), and Bokology (Boknaai-Jbs Double Darlin) followed. Presidential Embrace scratched.

he Kings Horse drew off in the stretch and rolled
to a 5 1/4-length victory in the $43,250 San Marcos Stakes at Retama Park on July 2.
Racing into a 12-mph head wind in the homestretch, The Kings Horse finished the 870- yards in :47.017 while posting an 83 speed index.
The $25,950 winner’s share of the $43,250 San Marcos Stakes purse pushed his banrkoll to $151,096. The gelding has won six of 25 outs, including the 2022 Governor’s Cup Marathon.
Bullard Farms owns the 6-year-old Class King gelding. Trainer Lewis “Tooter” Jordan had jockey Claudio Aguilar in the irons.
The Kings Horse was bred in Texas, and he was rebounding off of a second-place run, 5 1/4 lengths behind winner Shockinglyfamous, in the 870-yard Jesse Yoakum Memorial Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park on June 18.
The gelding is out of Fleeta Dif TB, a daughter of the Clever Trick stallion Hadif who won five Thoroughbred stakes in Texas between 2002-
04. The Kings Horse traces back to his fourth
dam, Fiesta Lady, a Grade 1-winning daughter of Secretariat and a half sister to three stakes winners, including multiple Grade 3 winner Faneuil Lass.
WL Mylipshurtrealbad (Jess Lips-Shez Quick To Ramble) finished 2nd under jockey Jose Juan Olivo and pocketed the $8,650 runner-up share of the purse for owner Cody McDaniel, who also trains the 5-year-old gelding. Jess Paint Me Quick (PYC Paint Your Wagon-My Girl Jessie) ran third under jockey Francisco Giles, 6 1/2-lengths behind The Kings Horse, and banked $4,758 for owner Edelmiro Carrizales, who also prepped the 6-year-old gelding. Followed by Flyin Charlie (Flyin Color-Bokaroni), Steves Klassy Jess (Dash Master Jess-Haleys Comet Ride), and Tek Ni Color (Flyin Color-Blaze In Bok Lady). Sweater TLC scratched.

SUZES DYNASTY

ill Doenz’s Suzes Dynasty, the sixth-fastest
qualifier from the June 24 trials, outran her 13-1 odds to win the $47,592 Adequan Pocatello Derby Challenge at Pocatello Downs on July 8.
Suzes Dynasty went wire-to-wire and covered 400 yards in :19.725, earning a 101 speed index. Her margin of victory was a neck from fastest qualifier and 11-10 favorite Conant Valley. The filly earned $21,892 from the winner’s share of the purse, raising her bankroll to $88,392. This was her second career victory, and she earned a berth in the Oct. 22 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship-G3 at Horseshoe Indianapolis. Trainer Josh Taylor had Joe Dominguez aboard.
Suzes Dynasty was bred in Oklahoma by Flag Ranch LLC, and she was purchased by Doenz for $40,000 at the 2020 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The filly is out of Brown Eye Suze, a winning and graded stakes placed Mr Eye Opener mare, and she is a half-sister to two graded stakes winners including 2018 West Texas Futurity-G2 winner and Ruidoso Futurity-G1 runner-up Suze Returns.
Keith W. Nellesen’s Conant Valley (One Famous Eagle-Cluster Of Stars TB) was coming off of a 3/4-length win in the second of three trials on June 24. Riley Moosman trained the brown gelding and jockey Jesus Valenzuela had the riding assignment.
Radar (A Revenant-Snow In My Corona) ran third under jockey Oscar Villa for owner Vincente Treyes and trainer Ramiro Fregoso.
Honey Butte (FDD Dynasty-Heading Home), B The One (Five Bar Cartel-KT Perry), The Secret Prize (Hez Our Secret-First Prize Shaunda), Ms Famous Racy (One Famous Eagle-First Down Racy), Dr Toola (Kiss My Hocks-Charming Cartel), Empowered To Prosper (Kiss My Hocks-Shakemuppery), and Eagle Assault (One Famous Eagle-First Prize Joy) completed the order of finish.
