SCOOPIES LEAVING YOU

As Scoopies Leaving You has matured, he has become a gem of consistency. The 5-year-old horse hasn’t finished worse than third since the fall of 2014, and he made it three stakes victories in a row when he captured the Swift Stakes at Louisiana Downs on Jan. 30.
Scoopies Leaving You has won seven of eight starts at Louisiana Downs. In the Swift Stakes, he jumped out of the gate on top and led every step of the 350 yards. With regular rider Donald Watson aboard, Scoopies Leaving You won by a neck in :17.990. The $9,000 winners share of the purse boosts Scoopies Leaving You’s total earnings to $213,780.
During 2015 racing for owner Joel Galindo and trained by Kevin Broussard, Scoopies Leaving You won three stakes—the Gentilly Dash, Evangeline Downs Dash, and Sam’s Town Stakes. He began 2016 with another stakes win in the Harrah’s Dash.
Gerald Libersat bred Scoopies Leaving You in Louisiana. Stakes-placed Ms Scoopies Toast, the dam of Scoopies Leaving You, has produced two winners in four starters.
Running Game Patriot (Game Patriot-Eyesa La Tac) finished 2nd with Alfonso Lujan in the irons. Dave Correll trains the 4-year-old gelding for owner Pete Scarmardo. Running Game Patriot has won 3 races.
Multiple stakes-placed The Eagle Express (One Famous Eagle-Rustys Quickid) ran third. Randy Edison piloted the 5-year-old gelding for trainer Larry Kopycinski and owner Mary Thompson.

Party Girl Stakes
LITTLE BLUE DOVE

Arnoldo Gallegos’ $3,200 purchase of Little Blue Dove as a yearling has paid off handsomely. The filly has now earned $85,461, most recently becoming a stakes winner in the Party Girl Stakes at Louisiana Downs on Jan. 30.
Little Blue Dove had to overcome a bump
at the start of the Party Girl Stakes, but she and jockey David Alvarez quickly began making up ground. They grabbed a narrow lead and scored by 1/2-length in :18.053 for the 350 yards.
Martin Gallegos trains Little Blue Dove, and Arnoldo purchased her at the 2013 Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association Yearling Sale. At three, she finished third in the Par-A-Dice Stakes at Delta Downs.
Phil Guilbeau and Randy Morein bred Little
Blue Dove in Louisiana and consigned her to the sale through Tate Farms as agent. Hurried Connection, Little Blue Dove’s dam, finished second in the 2005 Pony Express Stakes and has produced three winners in four starters, including stakes-placed Strap Hanger.
Heza No Bay (Heza Fast Dash-Reckless Renee) ran second. Jose Rodriguez rode the 4-year-old
filly, and Kevin Broussard trains her for owner Michael Richard. Heza No Bay broke her maiden at Louisiana Downs in 2015.
Lanny Keith trains Louis Johnson Jr.’s TF Eyes R Struttin (Struttin To Beduino-Eyes R Special), who finished third. Raul Ramirez Jr. piloted the 5-year- old mare, a three-time stakes winner in 2015.

Billy Montgomery Stakes
JET BLACK ZOOMER

Jet Black Zoomer added yet another stakes vic- tory to his record after winning the 350-yard Billy Montgomery Stakes at Louisiana Downs on Jan. 16.
Finishing a neck in front, Jet Black Zoomer and jockey Antonio Alberto stopped the timer at :17.729 to earn a 92 speed index.
Jet Black Zoomer took home the winners share of the $25,000 purse, adding $15,000 to his name and making his total earnings $87,196.
Trainer Kelli Smith has now won three
races in a row with Jet Black Zoomer, includ- ing the 2015 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile Challenge-RG2.
He is owned by Joseph Landreneau and was bred in Louisiana by S K T Farms, Inc. out of Dealazoom. The mare has produced 100% money earners from her five starters. Mudbug is her highest money earner with over $100,000 banked, while Jet Black Zoomer is her first stakes winner.
Jess A Saint (Jess Lo.uisiana Blue-Laughing Saint TB) finished second with Raul Ramirez, Jr. in the irons. His connections include owner Julio Rios and trainer Miguel Rodriguez.
Zoominforgrady (Zoomin For Bux-Supers First Jewel) had a late surge for third place under Jose Rodriguez. Their team includes owner Triple C Racing Stables, LLC and trainer Guadalupe Tristan.
