Pot O Gold Futurity
KOOL ODDS

Kool Odds is off to an impressive start, landing
his first stakes victory early in his career with the $28,318 Pot O’ Gold Futurity at Sun Downs on May
7. His only other start is in the April 23 trials where he finished second in his heat just behind Recking Ball to qualify second.
With Eddie Aceves aboard, Kool Odds broke well from the 4-post and proved to be too much for the fastest qualifier, Recking Ball, when they crossed the wire with a 1/2-length lead. The pair stopped the clock at :15.673, earning a career best 95 speed index. The Mark Hanson trainee took home the $11,025 winner’s share for owners Hanson Racing LLC & Robin D. Dunn, which made his total career earnings $11,285.
Kool Odds was bred by Steve D. Burns, DVM in California out of winner Kool Kue Chick, who is a half-sister to 3-time Champion Kool Kue Baby. Kool Kue Chick has produced 12 winners from 20 starters. Kool Odds is one of three stakes winners out of the mare, including All American Juvenile Invitational winner Kool Cade and Las Damas Handicap-G2 winner Hawk Kue Pie.
Recking Ball (One Dashing Eagle-Shrug) finished second under Cesar Franco for owner San Gregorio Racing Stable Inc. and trainer Danny Montes. With Jose Guerrero in the irons, Sweet Dream Demon (Sixthirteen TB-Red Hot Diva) made a huge effort and finished third for owner Baldemar Rodriguez and trainer Saul Rodriguez.
Zoomin For Jas (Jess Zoomin-Hannas Halo), Corona B Gone (Favorite Cartel-Go Girl Gone), FDD Dynasty Too (FDD Dynasty-Jess Almighty Too), Diva Has It (One Sweet Jess-JN Sonoma Rose), Pendleton Promenade (Tres Seis-Glitteratti), who was DQ’d from 6th to 8th, My Twisted Sistar (Inseperable-Movin Meter) & Dont Hezitate (Ivory James-Jess Brimmin To Go), who was DQ’d from 8th to last, completed the order of finish.
Adequan SUD Derby Challenge

Long Lost Buddy scored his third stakes victory after a double disqualification in the $28,890 Adequan Sun Downs Derby Challenge on May 6. Genuine
Version and L Bar D Genuine Red crossed the wire first and second, but after review, both were disqualified. Stewards moved Genuine Version to 10th for breaking inward from the gate, while L Bar D Genuine Red was moved to 7th for racing greenly across the track and impeding several rivals. Eddie Aceves rode Long Lost Buddy, who clocked in at :20.801 for an 80 speed index. The Mark Hanson trainee took home the $13,289 win- ner’s share of the purse for owners RTM Stables LLC, Ben McKinney, and Richard Gardner. The win boosted the gelding’s cumulative lifetime earnings to $71,716 with five wins from six starts, including in the Rocky Mountain Spring Classic and the Bitterroot Futurity.
Long Lost Buddy was bred by Steve Burns, DVM in Menifee, California, out of 100% money producer Remember The Cartel. Long Lost Buddy is her first stakes winner from five starters. The mare is also
the dam of graded stakes placed winner Separate Cartel, who finished third in the Remington Park Championship Challenge-G2 and was a finalist in the Ruidoso Futurity-G1.
Downside Embezzler (Embezzlement TB-Rambling Maggie) finished second under Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa for owner Jess R. Matt and trainer Hector Magallanes. Seperate Flame (Separatist-Aflamin) finished third for owners Mike & Sherry Reardon and trainer Bill Hoburg. Justine Klaiber was in the irons.
Flyin Rocks (Fly Chisholm Fly-Rock’s El Dorado TB), CM Woody Blue (Woodbridge-Cool Blue Corona), Stellur (Stel Corona-RW Red Wave), L Bar D Genuine Red (Genuine Strawfly-Be First Rose), SR Mighty Leader Jet (Chase This Leader-Mighty Matty TB), Mariota Man (Azoom-Quatorze TB) & Genuine Version (Winners Version-Audy B Flyin) completed the field.
Merial SUD Distaff Challenge

Coming off a fourth-place effort in the April 23 trials, Ablurrforsure fought her way to her first stakes victory in the $25,020 Merial Sun Downs
Distaff Challenge on May 7.
The track was fast with a 4 mph crosswind
when Ablurrforsure broke from the 6-post. She was able to grab the lead in the stretch to finish in front by a neck. Ridden by Jose Figueroa, Ablurrforsure covered the 400 yards in :20.286 posting a 93
speed index. The filly took home the $11,509 win- ner’s share of the purse for owner Tom Williams and trainer Joseph Sandoval, which brought her cumulative earnings to $17,288 with four wins from 10 starts.
Ablurrforsure was bred by Tom Williams of Butte, Montana, out of stakes winner Kaweahs Blurr. She hit the board 13 times from 17 starts with four wins, including in the 1998 Great Falls HRA Futurity. Kaweahs Blurr has produced 100% money earners/ROM from three starters, including stakes placed Kaweahs Corona who was third in the 2009 Bucking Horse Sale Futurity. Ablurrforsure is her first stakes winner and top earner.
Gone Fast (Meter Me Lucky-Beautiful Ashlee) made a valiant attempt, but came in second place finish for owner Phoenix Farms and trainer Skyler Greene. Jake Samuels was up. Fastest qualifier Klassic Secret BR (Fantastic Corona Jr-Stylish Secret) broke in second under Salvador Ibarra, but was outfinished and placed third for owner/trainer Juan Sanguino.
Tic Tac Attack (Tac It Like A Man-Harney Girl) Absolut Pride (Ketel Won-Sign Of Pride), Betrothen (Walk Thru Fire-Flo Jo Lady), RTM Moonshine (Separatist-Shirleys Secret), Sorelli (Brookstone Bay-Cupids Special Fly), Shez Sneakin Fast (Heza Fast Dash-Sneak Bac) & Mags Rambling Moon (Jess My Moon-Rambling Maggie) completed the order of finish.
