by Dillon Hamilton
Rainy conditions and a 15 mph head wind couldn’t dampen the excitement around Prairie Meadows for the $157,288 Jim Bader
Futurity on Oct. 15. CR Game Changer and Fast N Famous Jeans finished in a dead heat for both of their first stakes wins. Much to his owner’s surprise, Fast N Famous Jeans held the lead for most of the race.
“I thought we wouldn’t come close to Tobin and his horse,” Tom Scheckel said. “I even bet on CR Game Changer.”
Scheckel praised his colt’s ability to hold off CR Game Changer until the wire. “There were some really good horses and I would have been happy with a 4th or 5th place finish.”
Fast N Famous Jeans & rider David Pinon clocked the 350-yards in :18.062. The $44,827 winner’s share takes

time I’ve worked with Tom has been one of the greatest things to happen to me.”
Fresh Water Farms bred the colt out of 2-time graded stakes-placed winner Fast Jeans. The colt joins Joezoom as the mare’s 2nd stakes win- ner out of 7 starters.
CR Game Changer rallied strongly under jockey Brayan Velazquez. Owner Dick Tobin, who owns the filly with his brother Curt, was elated by the filly’s strong rally.
“She always comes on strong at the end,” he said. “She keeps getting better and better. I hope it continues.”
Trainer Jason Olmstead, impressed with the filly’s late
charge, couldn’t believe the result. “She made up a world of ground and kept getting bigger and better down the track,” he said.
The purse brought the filly’s winnings to $111,749. The homebred filly is out of graded stakes placed winner LW Evening Lajolla. The filly her first stakes winner.
