ZOOMIN B CARTEL

There was $190,600 on the line for the Miss Roxie Little Futurity held at Indiana Grand on Oct. 22. Ten qualifiers lined up for the start. Zoomin B Cartel didn’t get the first call, but he broke well from the 2-post, quickly gathered himself, and hit his stride early. Within a few strides he was on the lead. With a little encouragement from Omar Reyes, who was riding him for the first
time, Zoomin B Cartel main- tained his course and crossed the line a neck in front.
The bay gelding stopped the clock at :17.793 for the 350 yards to earn a 92 speed index. He also took the first place money of $104,830, which ups his total earnings to $128,534. His race record is now 3 wins from 7 races.
Zoomin B Cartel won his Oct. 8 trial to the Miss Roxie Little for the 5th fastest time.
Zoomin B Cartel is owned by Vicki Lundstrum and Gordon Timm, and he is trained by Randy Smith. The gelding was bred in Indiana by Timm and is the first foal out of lightly raced Zoomin Zoey B.
“This is a great horse to be around, he has a great disposition and the most important qual- ity is that he gets better every out,” said trainer
Randy Smith. “He pulled
up great after the trials. I couldn’t find anything wrong with him before the finals and this was his best race so far. He has finally caught on to that competitive mind set.”
Breeder Gordon Timm only has three mares and they now all have stakes winners. “I give credit to Randy and also his wife Debby, who is Randy’s right hand man and she deserves a lot of credit,” Timm stated.
“Zoomin B Cartel is just now coming into himself,” said jockey Berkley Packer, who rode the gelding in the trials, but chose another to ride in the finals. “He will be a great three year old.”
Fastest qualifier Cb Come Fly With Me (Desirio-Miss Scarlet) was 2nd under Rolando Pina. The filly, who had won her last 3 in a row, is owned by Carolyn Bruce & trained by Joe M Davis. Sicario (Jumpon Chic-Chiseledaeasterbunny) was 3rd under Sergio Mendez for owner Adriana G. Almanza & trainer Julio Almanza. Followed by Dreamers Liaison (Sixes Liaison-Dreamers Cartel), Dna Dales Prospect (Coronas Prospect-Chrystal Dale), Kruzer (Brookstone Bay-Lovemelikethat), American Purr (American Runaway-This Cat Purrs), Im The Captain Now (Captain Courage-A True Stoli), Hez So Rare (First To Shake Six-Sheza Rare One Too) & Chics Dirty Secret (No Secrets Here-Chics Gotta Have Fun).
