CRM Livewire made a hard charge to set a Paint horse track record in the inaugural running
of the $27,330 Masterpiece Challenge Paint &
Appaloosa Stakes on Nov. 3 at Lone Star Park. Bred and owned by Dan Jones, the 3-year-old
colt collected his sixth win in 17 outs. The $16,670 winner’s share of the purse improved his lifetime bankroll to $75,460. CRM Livewire, who was last year’s APHA Running Champion 2-Year-Old Colt, came into this race on a hot streak, finishing first or second in each of his five preceding outs including a win in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Derby-G1 on Aug. 4 and a runner-up finish in the Lewis Wartchow Stakes-G1 on July 7.
The 1-2 favorite in the Masterpiece, CRM Livewire made a sharp break from the outside gate in the seven-horse field, but SW Eye Candy seized the early lead. Jockey Cody Smith successfully urged CRM Livewire down the track, and the colt reached the finish line first by three-quarters of a length. Trained by Matt Whitekiller, CRM Livewire com- pleted the 400-yard event in :19.844.
CRM Livewire is the only Paint foal out of Elaina Go Go, a 2004 mare who qualified for the 2006 Lone Star Paint & Appaloosa Futurity.
SW Eye Candy APHA (Country Chicks Man QH-Ms Painted Eyeopener) finished a game second. Dee Keener trains the filly and co-owns with Steve Wright. James Flores drew the riding assignment. Spotless Redneck APHA (Judys Lineage-Shero), who hit the board in third place, is owned by Joni Beth Willis and trained by Eddie D. Willis. Jockey Kenny Muntz was in the irons.
The remaining order of finish was Rawhide Legend APHA (Dos Poruno-Crafty Lass), Dosofme APHA (Dos Poruno-Bullamia), Ivory Queen ApHC (Ivory James-Sure Nuff Fast) and BP Cartels Paint APHA (Cartels Success QH-Baileys N Sunsets).

Sheezespeciallyfast lived up to her name on Nov. 10 at Evangeline Downs. The 3-year-old filly made a strong run from the outside of the field in the $26,800 first division of the Evangeline Downs Dash and reached the wire sporting a one-length margin of victory.
Owned by David P. West, Sheezespeciallyfast collected her fourth win in 17 lifetime outs, with all four victories coming during her sophomore cam- paign. Although this was her first trip to the winner’s circle since an April 28 start at Delta Downs, she’s hit the board in eight of her 10 starts thus far this season. The Evangeline Downs Dash marked her first-ever stakes win, but she’d had some prior suc- cess in such competition, finishing third in Division 2 of the Billy Montgomery Stakes held at this same track in October.
Trained by Kevin Broussard, Sheezespeciallyfast drew the outside starting gate for this 220-yard sprint. The filly broke on top, opening a half-length lead by the first call. From there, Sheezespeciallyfast continued to widen the gap, drawing clear of her competitors to win by daylight in an impressive run.
Jockey Donald Watson steered Sheezespeciallyfast to a :11.992 showing in the short- distance stakes, registering a 94 speed index. The filly also produced a $15,960 payday that pushed her career bankroll over the $75,000 mark to $75,343.
M.C. Morris bred Sheezespeciallyfast, who becomes the first stakes winner out of her dam, Spice Your Glass. Rance and Robyn Herring own Spice Your Glass, a lightly-raced 2000 mare who has foaled six offspring, half of whom have made starts. Sheezespeciallyfast is the only member of the brood in black type, but her half-sister Thecoloroftheblues did compete in four graded stakes races.
Heza Gand DS Dash (Heza Fast Dash-Mary Snow) finished second by a head for owner Casey Haywood and trainer Vann Haywood. Alfonso Lujan drew the riding assignment on the veteran eight-year- old gelding. Coup De Dasher (Some Dasher-Minnie Coup De Dash) hit the board in third. Coup De Dasher is owned by Rene Amaro and trained by Javier Contreras. Jarrod Deschamp was aboard.
The remaining order of finish was: Corona Mistress (Corona For Me-Fastmans Mistress), Memorys
Fast Dash (Heza Fast Dash-Grab A Memory), Imdancinwiththestars (Furyofthewind-First Fervor), Special Britt (Jess Special-Fishers Prissy Lady), and Jess Courageous (Achievement-Shes Jess Special).

JLS Party Wagon charged to a stakes victory in his second out. Ten starts later, the 3-year-old colt picked up his second ever stakes win, outdueling favorite Taylors Toastin Papa to win Division 2 of the $26,800 Evangeline Downs Dash on Nov. 10 at Evangeline Downs.
JLS Speed Horse Ranch Inc. owns and bred JLS Party Wagon, who now holds five wins in 12 lifetime outs. That victory total includes last year’s Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity-G3 at Louisiana Downs. Although wins have been few and far between for JLS Party Wagon, he did come into this out after an impressive run in an Oct. 12 allowance at Evangeline, in which he set the 330-yard track record.
Trained by Darrel Soileau, JLS Party Wagon showed an abundance of speed in this start as well. The colt made a smooth break from the No. 6 gate, then came on strong to take the lead and beat Taylors Toastin Papa to the finish line by only a neck.
Jockey Raul Ramirez Jr. drew the riding assign- ment, as JLS Party Wagon completed the 220-yard sprint in :11.929 for a 96 speed index. JLS Speed Horse Ranch reaped a $16,080 payday for the vic- tory, improving the colt’s total earnings to $147,808.
JLS Party Wagon is the biggest money winner among the 16 starters foaled by his dam, Dancing Tonight, and is one of three of his dam’s offspring who hold stakes victories. The others are Ms Pilot Point, a half-sister to JLS Party Wagon whose
two stakes wins include the 2006 East Distaff Challenge-G3 at Delta Downs; and JLS Streak Of Snow, a half-brother with three stakes wins and
the only other member of the brood to produce six figures in price money. John L. Soileau Jr. owns Dancing Tonight, a 1989 mare who won three of 14 starts during her own competitive career.
Taylors Toastin Papa’s connections, owner Gerald Libersat and trainer Kevin Broussard, settled for the runner-up share of the purse. Donald Watson was aboard Taylors Toastin Papa, who posted
three stakes wins earlier this year. Lil Miss Hatch (Achievement-Miss Hatch TB) hit the board in third for Macedonio Lozano. The Fructuoso Huitron trainee had Floriberto Maldonado aboard.
Heza Gonna Dash (Heza Fast Dash-Iwanna Dash), Get First (Andalay Get-First Place Miss), Executive Tone (Executive Menace-Im Color Fast), Mr Henry Will (Heza Fast Dash-Vals Secret) and Zoomin To Win (Azoom-First Place Winner) com- pleted the field. Little Eye Opener was scratched.
