ladies first. Fool The Guys was one of just two fillies in the field for the Mount Rushmore Handicap, but she was first across the finish line in
the $15,000 stakes held Nov. 10 at Los Alamitos. It marked the third straight win in six total
starts for Fool The Guys, a 2-year-old filly owned
by Aron Saenz. She registered her first stakes victory but already had black type, thanks to a second-place finish in the South Valley/Swett Ranch Futurity held at Laurel Brown in Utah back in May.
Fool The Guys needed every bit of the 350-yard distance in the Rushmore to secure the victory.
The filly broke from the No. 6 gate and immedi- ately started to vie with Checkspeed for the lead. Checkspeed had the lead by a neck at the first call, but Fool The Guys rallied during the final yards and outnodded Checkspeed at the finish line.
Trained by Cody Joiner and ridden by Eduardo Nicasio, Fool The Guys completed the race in :17.828. The filly brought home an $8,250 payday which boosted her total earnings to $17,430. Edward Allred bred Fool The Guys and his dam, winner Fool The Boys. Fool The Guys is her first foal. The second dam is multiple graded stakes winner Girl Secrets.
Checkspeed (Check Him Out-Speedy Speedette), who won the Wild West Futurity earlier this year, finished second this time. The gelding is owned by J.P. Sample and Emily Lawrence. The John Wells trainee had Gregorio Arriaga in the irons. BF Memory Lane placed third for Birrell Farms. James Hanson is the trainer and Cruz Mendez was in the irons.
The remaining order of finish was RM Looking For Fame (Maknmoves-Switching Fame), Lazy First Morn (First Down Morn-LS Lazy Money), Larryville (Stel Corona-Ynot Bar), Agent Of Move (Maknmoves-Shez De Agent), Makn A Legacy (Maknmoves-Ms Legacy Lane) and Signature Rocket (First I Am-Sheza Signature).

an accomplished group of older horses clashed in the $20,000 OQHRA Fall Classic Stakes at Will Rogers Downs on Nov. 10 with Jesse In Town getting up in the last stride to nip Chics Delight at the wire.
Piloted by Cody Jensen, Jesse In Town broke just a step slow but chased Chics Delight under Mike Frederick through the early stages, getting on terms with the pacesetter in the shadow of the wire and scoring by a head on the line. Jesse In Town covered the 440 yards in :21.699. Chics Delight (Chicks Doit- Easy Hempen Chic), who had finished third in two straight stakes races, finished second for trainer Dale Kolb, who owns the filly with Tina Kolb. T Gold J (Gold Medal Jess-Turns To Cash) closed well to gain the show spot under Kenny Muntz for owner Manny Silva and trainer Bonifacio Almanza.
Bred in Arkansas by Charles or Sharon Gray, Jesse In Town, trained by Jackie Kirby, is cam- paigned by Mary Passmore Kirby. He is out of
the stakes-winning Takin On The Cash mare Whatsthatfillysname, who has also produced stakes- placed Any More Questions and Hes A Free Will.
Jesse In Town is now a four-time stakes winner with earnings of more than $125,000. He notched two stakes scores in 2011, winning the Cherokee Challenge Stakes and the Bienvenido De Nuevo Stakes, and added the Rocky Heinzig Memorial Stakes earlier this season. In his most recent start prior to the Fall Classic, he finished second in the Farnham Stakes at Prairie Meadows on Oct. 27. He set a 300- yard track record at Prairie Meadows in 2011.

CRM Livewire won two major stakes in eight days in two different states. On Nov. 3, he cap- tured the inaugural Masterpiece Challenge Paint and
Appaloosa Stakes at Lone Star Park in Texas, and on Nov. 10 he added the Talamina Paint and Appaloosa Handicap at Will Rogers Downs in Oklahoma.
Cody Smith, CRM Livewire’s primary jockey this year, partnered the colt in both stakes. In the Talamina, CRM Livewire broke sharply from post five behind three others, including the favorite, Flashthechicks. CRM Livewire took over the lead, and though Runaway Argus made a late move, CRM Livewire held on to win by a neck in :17.622 for the 350 yards.
Matt Whitekiller trains CRM Livewire for owner- breeder Dan Jones. Jones and his wife, Kaye, name their horses for their grandchildren, and CRM Livewire is named for granddaughter Callie Rose Malsbury. At 2, he was the Paint Champion 2-Year-Old and Champion 2-Year-Old Colt. Jones bred CRM Livewire from win- ner Elaina Go Go, and the colt is her first foal.
The Runaway Argus Partnership races second- place Runaway Argus-APHA (SF Royal Quick Flash-Giddy Up). G.R. Carter Jr. rode the gelding for trainer Brian Muse. Shirley Wheeler’s homebred World Champion Flashthechicks-APHA (SF Royal Quick Flash-Game Chicken) finished third. Alex Baldillez Jr. rode him for trainer Luis Villafranco.
KC Fabulous Flash-APHA (SF Royal Quick Flash-Fabulous Strawbaby) finished fourth, while Junglebell-APHA (Little Jungle Jet-Jezebellway) and Corona Over Ice-APHA (Mr Eye Opener-Princess Cartel) dead-heated for fifth, followed by SM Firstdown Country-APHA (Sweet First Down-Hot Country Miss), Crazy Mother Trucker-APHA (Sweet First Down-Texas Fourwinds), Full Of Fastballs- ApHC (Eye Full Of Cash-Fastball Missy), and
