jockey Raul Herrera, and the homebred 4-year-old gelding’s winning margin was a neck from Rattle
N Battle. Manuel Orozco prepped Toshi Yoshi for owner Dana Yoshida-Orozco of Strasburg, Colorado.
Toshi Yoshi was coming off of an Arapahoe sum- mer campaign during which he won two of his three outs, including the 350-yard American Flyer Stakes on July 23. All told, Toshi Yoshi has won seven of 12 starts, and the $30,000 winner’s share of the purse from his fourth career stakes victory pushed his bankroll to $163,219.
Toshi Yoshi is one of two winners from as many starters foaled by winner Mairis Money Maker. The gelding’s second dam, A Dash Of Mairi, won the 2001 Big Splash Stakes at Fair Meadows at Tulsa. Toshi Yoshi traces back to his third dam, stakes winner Mairi.
Rattle N Battle (Apollitical Jess-Tinys Corona Queen) races for Sunset Well Service Inc. from the barn of trainer Michael Chavez. Esgar Ramirez rode the four-year-old gelding.
Bp Hit The Bigtime ran third, failing in his
bid to repeat his win in this stakes last season.
Jesse Levario rode the five-year-old gelding for owner Top Roustabouts and Backhoe Service and trainer Joaquin Lopez. Followed by Apollitical Sign (Apollitical Jess-First Painted Sign), Streakin Regard (Chicks Regard-Streakin La Tac), Lethal Volcom (Volcom-Lethal Delight), Eyeza Secret-PT (St Mr Eye Opener-Sheza Royal Secret), Game Changes (Game Patriot-Xo Kate), Sweet Solid Rock (Rock Solid Jess-Tf Lil Sweet N Easy), and Quemados Version (Winners Version-A Royal Lead).
Herman Jefferson Stakes
CORONAS BOY

The 870-yard Herman Jefferson Stakes was run at Zia Park on Oct. 2. The stakes event held a purse worth $50,000 for a field of seven.
Coronas Boy broke second from the 5-gate under jockey Jose Ortiz, then slipped to fourth
at first call. Sitting chilly, Ortiz managed to gain third in the stretch after going 4-wide in the turn and was up in time to take the win by a neck. The duo finished the contest in :45.838, earning a 90 speed index. The $30,000 winner’s share of the purse boosted the gelding’s total lifetime earnings to $431,062.
Coronas Boy’s connections include owner/ breeder Victor M. Diaz and trainer Martin Orona, Jr. Coronas Boy was bred in New Mexico out of lightly raced My First Corona. She has produced 100% money earners from six starters. Coronas Boy is her top earner and only stakes winner to date. The bay gelding has won the New Mexico Cup 870 Championship twice, in 2013 and 2014 at Zia Park, and The Getaway Stakes at Sunland Park in 2012.
Executive Trust (Executive Menace-Entrust) was moved to second after Kingsbury was disqualified. His connections include owner Sherree Meridyth and trainer Guadalupe Munoz, Jr. Ruby Gonzalez was in the irons.
Kingsbury (FDD Dynasty-Corona Lane) was placed third by the stewards after being disqualified. The brown gelding is owned by Javier Beltran, Tony Sedillo and Tommy Galvez and trained by Tony Sedillo. Francisco Giles was handling the reigns. Ocean Smoke (Ocean Runaway-Smokin TB) Swiss Chris (Swissle Stick TB-Ace Crystal Charm) Jess A Hilbily Bone (Rock Solid Jess-Imaginiff) Straight From Texas (Fantastic Corona Jr-Too Tempting TB) completed the order of finish. CJS Rocksolid, Dark Brook, and TTY From Mr Pye were scratched.
Pot O’ Gold P&A Futurity-G1
CRM RADIO FLYER

Asharp break from the 4-post helped Dan and Kaye Jones’ CRM Radio Flyer APHA score a wire-to-wire victory in the $60,900 Pot O’ Gold Futurity-G1 at Will Rogers Downs on Oct. 1.
Prepped by Matt Whitekiller, CRM Radio Flyer covered 350 yards in :17.708 and earned a career-best 90 speed index under jockey Cody Smith. The $23,142 winner’s share of the purse from his first stakes win pushed CRM Radio Flyer’s bankroll to $56,796.
CRM Radio Flyer was coming off of a 1/2-length victory in his Pot O’ Gold Futurity trial on Sept. 11.
CRM Radio Flyer was bred by Dan Jones in Oklahoma out of winner Elaina Go Go. She has produced three winners from as many starters, including 2-time World Champion CRM Livewire, a half brother to CRM Radio Flyer.
Campaigned exclusively in Oklahoma, CRM Radio Flyer has won three of eight outs, and
his resume includes a second-place finish in the 350-yard $89,100 Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Fair Meadows at Tulsa on July 30.
DTL Batter Up APHA (SF Royal Quick Flash- Beef Jerkin Queen) finished second. The sorrel gelding was ridden by Jimmy Dean Brooks for owner Elizabeth Logan and trainer Dee Keener.
Keener also sent out third-place finisher PHQ Goodbye Earl APHA (Awesome Chrome-Sayonara). Jesus Salazar piloted the sorrel gelding for owner Paint Horse Queens.
KC Texas Lady APHA (Texas Six- Kaywantsafastone), DTL Fast Flyin Tex APHA (Texas Six-Flyin Candy QH), Freighttrain X APHA (Freighttrain B QH-Twenty Triple X), BP Apollitical Sun APHA (Apollitical Jess QH-Baileys N Sunsets), Sexy Painted Wagon APHA (PYC Paint Your Wagon QH-Sexy Senorita), and Rut Row APHA (SF Royal Quick Flash-Shawne Chick) completed the order of finish. Fade Shot APHA was scratched.
