by John Moorehouse
Youvebeenhenried joined the club of multiple stakes winners on Oct. 10 at Prairie Meadows, taking first place in the $24,752 Covered Bridges Stakes.
The veteran six-year-old gelding collected his eighth career victory in the event. He hadn’t reached the winner’s circle in a stakes race in more than four years when he won the 2011 Oklahoma Horsemen’s Association Futurity-RG2 at Will Rogers Downs.
Youvebeenhenried is now undefeated in five outs thus far this year. The $14,500 first-place share of the purse for this stakes improved his lifetime earn- ings to $135,645.
After breaking in the middle of the pack from the 5-hole, Youvebeenhenried grabbed the lead and was running in front by a head. The gelding widened the gap to a 1/2-length by the time he reached the stretch, then withstood a late challenge from Also A Feature to win by a neck.
Mark Darwin Denny owns Youvebeenhenried, a Jody Brown trainee who had David Brown in the irons. The gelding completed his 870-yard trip in :46.203, posting an 88 speed index.
Youvebeenhenried was bred by the Henry G. Gerken Estate out of the lightly raced Pals Miss Phoebe, who is owned by Carol Adkisson & Nova Harrison. Pals Miss Phoebe has 15 foals/starters, but Youvebeenhenried is her only stakes winner.
Also A Feature (Feature Mr Jess-Also A High) finished a length clear in 2nd under Marcus Swiontek for Chris Likens & trainer Stacy Belt. Mixed Fantasy (Okey Dokey Fantasy-Mixin Sixin) hit the board in third under Rakeem Pauling for JK Running Horses LLC & trainer Kenny Laymon. Followed by Jesstastic (Jesse James Jr-Firehawk Filly), Wicked Valentine (One Famous Eagle-Only The Wicked), Hidden Fury (Furyofthewind-Hidden Virtue TB) and Streakin Zoomer (Shazoom-A Streakin Mate). On Oct. 10 at Prairie Meadows, Shake Em Streakin won the Terrace Hill Stakes for the 2nd straight year, taking the $70,200 event by a head. Competing
in the Terrace Hill for the 5th consecutive time, Shake Em Streakin reached the winner’s circle for the 9th time in 29 outs. In addition to the pair of Terrace Hill triumphs, the 8-year-old gelding also won the 2010 ver- sion of the Iowa Stallion Derby at Prairie Meadows.
Starting on the outside of the 11-horse field
in this year’s Terrace Hill, Shake Em Streakin ran sixth at the first call and was fifth as then-leader Iris Dashing Royal entered the stretch. But, rider Stormy Smith urged Shake Em Streakin to a driving finish, and he overtook the four rivals in front of him.
Brent and Karen Clay home-bred Shake Em Streakin, who produced a $20,080 payday that boosted his lifetime earnings to $180,124. Brent Clay also trains the gelding, who made the 400-yard trip in :20.586 while running into a 6 mph headwind.
The Clays bred Shake Em Streakin out of Miss Fine La Jolla, who has foaled six starters among 10 offspring. Two of her foals are stakes winners; the other is I Am That Hero, who holds three victories in stakes company and has earned more than $225,000.

Pure D Spit added a third graded stakes win to an already impressive career record on Oct. 10 at Prairie Meadows, dominating in the $45,000 Two
Rivers Stakes.
A 7-year-old gelding, Pure D Spit notched his
18th career win in 44 outs and now holds four victo- ries in stakes company—three of them graded—with a lifetime bankroll that stands at $351,675 with the addition of this $24,750 payday.
Rodrigo Covarrubias does double duty as owner and trainer and prepped Pure D Spit for a very impressive performance in this one. The gelding broke on top, led by 1/2-length at the first call, doubled his advantage entering the stretch and then blew away from any would-be rivals, cruising to the wire sporting a 2 1/4-length separation from his nearest competitor.
Jesus Salazar was aboard for the victorious 440-yard trip, completed in :21.732 into a 4 mph headwind, good for a 96 speed index.
Ray Enlow bred Pure D Spit and owns his dam, Pure Princess, a 1999 mare who has three foals to date. Pure D Spit is the first starter in the brood.
Eye A Spit Curl Girl (Spit Curl Jess- Thisdimplesaniopener), an underdog at nearly 16-1 odds, secured runner-up honors for owner Martin Stacy and trainer Randy Hill. Jorge Torres was in the irons.
