                                Dash For Cash Juvenile
SATCHA WAGONEER
by Tracy Gantz
Bettors weren’t sure what to do about the Oct. 10 Dash For Cash Juvenile at Lone Star Park. No one stood out to the extent that Satcha Wagoneer did,
who went off as the favorite at a lukewarm 7-2 odds. As it turned out, the bettors got it right, both in their favorite and the fact that it was an evenly
matched field. Satcha Wagoneer, with Yordanis Amaro aboard, broke third, quickly went to the lead, and stayed there. Necks, heads, and noses separated the entire field at the wire, with Satcha Wagoneer the winner by a neck in :19.814 for the 400 yards.
Jorge Gonzalez trains Satcha Wagoneer for the Double A Ranch. In four previous starts, the filly broke her maiden and finished second twice.
Sam Green bred Satcha Wagoneer in Louisiana from Seychelle, who ran third in the 2003 West Texas Derby-G2. The mare has produced eight win- ners from 11 starters, including 2014 South Florida Invitational winner Beduinosfirstrunaway and stakes-placers Im Delicious and Ipolito.
Rogelio Guajardo’s homebred Tic Dale (The Louisiana Cartel-Halies Dale) finished second for jockey Randy Edison and trainer Adrian Huitron. The colt debuted in his Dash For Cash Futurity trial, finishing second.
Huitron also trained third-placed Queen Washita (Inseperable-Queens Magnolia). Andrew Smith bred and owns the filly, and Manuel Gutierrez piloted her. Queen Washita won her Dash For Cash Futurity trial but did not qualify to the big event.
Followed by Finnick (Fire And Corona-Hawks Dancing Straw), Jes Paint Your Wagon (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Jes A Game), Especial Cartel (The Louisiana Cartel-I Be Dazzlen), Real Solid Oak (Oak Tree Special-Real Or Imagined), Gianni Modo (One Famous Gianni-Chalinashake), and Bloomer Ride (PYC Paint Your Wagon-JA Fantasy). My Royal Wagon was scratched.
B.F. Phillips Stakes-RG3
MR JO EAGLE
by Michael Cusortelli
Mr Jo Eagle earned his second stakes win of the Lone Star Park fall meet in the $25,000 B.F. Phillips Jr. Stakes for Texas-breds on Nov. 5.
Ridden by Agustin Silva, Mr Jo Eagle went 400 yards in :19.462 and earned a 101 speed index on
a muddy and sealed track. R.L. “Rick” Robinson prepped the homebred 4-year-old gelding for owner Dan W. Nicks of Devine, Texas.
Mr Jo Eagle was dropping in class and distance off of his third-place finish in the 440-yard $75,000 Refrigerator Handicap-G1 on Oct. 3.
An earner of $136,053 while racing in Texas and Oklahoma, Mr Jo Eagle has won eight of 21 starts, including the 350-yard Grand Prairie Stakes at Lone Star on Sept. 18. At three, the gelding ran third in the 440-yard $174,400 Dash For Cash Derby-G3.
Mr Jo Eagle’s dam, First Place Diamond, is a winning mare bred by American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame member Jerry Windham.
The mare has foaled six winners from as
many starters, including three time stakes winner Diamond For Jess, a half brother to Mr Jo Eagle, and John The Banker, who ran second in the 2011 Dash For Cash Futurity-G1.
Notavailableinstores (One Famous Eagle-Open With Cash) finished second, a neck behind Mr Jo Eagle. The sophomore gelding was saddled by Cindi Keeton and ridden by Oscar Hernandez for owner Valeriano Racing Stables LLC.
Scarlett Hill Farm Inc.’s Lil Famous Dash (One Famous Eagle-Dash Master Miss) ran third under Rodrigo Vallejo for trainer Judd Kearl.
Hiclass Vodka (Hiclass La Jolla-Newport Lily), Rare Legs (Rare King-Lovely Legs), Pursuit Of Duty (One Famous Eagle-Southern Fast Lady), MSG Image Of Sixes (Streakin Sixes-Fetching Image) & Cabana Girl (Pool-Magical Affection) completed the order of finish.
Masterpiece P&A Challenge
CAMO COWGIRL
by Danny Camp
The horses were as colorful as the jockeys’ silks
at Lone Star Park for the 400-yard $20,132 Masterpiece Paint & Appaloosa Challenge on Oct. 30, with Camo Cowgirl taking home the $7,488 first place money. The 3-year-old filly stepped away from the 3-post over a sloppy track, slightly bumping the 4-horse. Aware of the conditions, rider Luis Ramirez waited until his mount hit her stride and then asked for more. Camo Cowgirl took the lead half way down the track and finished a length in front. The filly stopped the clock at :19.953 for an 87 speed index. She now has a record of 3 wins from 17 starts and $31,203 in earnings.
The Camo Cowgirl, who was also a finalist
in four additional stakes events, is owned/bred by Sandra Garnett and trained by R.L. Robinson. The filly is out of winner/2-time stakes finalist Dial Judy. The mare has produced four stakes horses now with Camo Cowgirl’s first stakes victory. The filly is a full sister to Champion Awesome Judy, as well as stakes winner Just Splashin.
Juan Garcia made a stellar ride that resulted in a second place finish for Bp Baileys Success (Cartel Success-Baileys N Sunsets). Her team is made up of owner Bill B. Price and trainer Luis Villafranco.
After a look at the photo, the stewards stated that Sis B Grand (Sis B Gol-Shawnee Point) was the third place finisher. The folks that brought him to the races include owner Francisco Rene Villarreal and trainer Luis Villafranco. Mario Delgado had the riding assignment.
Followed by Wagon On Turnpike (Pyc Paint Your Wagon-Turnpikes Texas), Gitter Dun Turnpike (PYC Paint Your Wagon-High Class Turnpike), Cowboy Mafia (Judys Lineage-Just Streakin), Maddies Rare Corona (Little Corona-A Rare Gem), Ivory King (Ivory James-Sure Nuff Fast), & Star Spangled Banner (Awesome Chrome-Star Trace).
