Nine athletes were enrolled in this young stakes event open to two year olds and held in honor of the well-known Sinaloan Jesús Jiménez
Sánchez. The freshman runners were in search of their first victory on a 350-yard course with a prize of $197,600 pesos (approximately $9,543 US).
The undisputed winner was the beautiful sorrel colt Dans Jess (Teller Cartel - Jess A Topper, by Mr Jess Perry), who was well sup- ported by Eddi Cuéllar. Dans Jess won easily by 1 1⁄2-lengths over Harem Cartel. Dans Jess had the best start of the group, allowing him to handle the track well and to stay on point throughout the route that he exhausted in :17.44 seconds for a 91 speed index.
The colt is owned by Rancho El Suspiro, located in the state of Chiapas, which has also successfully run him in match-racing futurities in the southeast region of Mexico. His debut at the Hipodromo de las Américas was on Aug. 28, 2016, but his first win was on Oct. 30,
just days after being nominated for this stakes. Therefore, his record is 2-0-1 from 4 starts.
Dans Jess was bred in the United States by Dan L. Adams, and for this races he was saddled by trainer Fidel Rosado Guevara. The reward for his effort was $118,560 pesos (approximately $5,726 US). José de Jesús Jiménez Jr., son of the honoree, was present at the awards ceremony.
Second place went to the filly Harem Cartel (Millenium Cartel - Harem Carver), owned by Cuadra Santa Elena and trained by Joaquín Ramón Peláez Cortés. His rider was Moisés González García.
S Red Cat (Red Storm Cat - Bye Bye Jolene) finished third well led by Moisés Molina Romo for Cuadra Quinta Marian and trainer Rigoberto Vega López.
The arrival was completed with: Jess Tellim (Teller Cartel – Jess Runnin), Go Tempting Fly (Tempting Dash – Go Flyonthemountain), KK Swingin Lesson (Swingin Jess – Lesson TB), Lil Bit Of Rhythm (Flyingwhitheagles

Nueve atletas fueron inscritos a este joven clásico abierto para ejemplares de dos años, en honor al connotado caballista sinaloense Jesús Jiménez Sánchez, mismos que iban en busca de su primera victoria, en un recorrido de 350 yardas. El premio en disputa fue de $197,600 pesos ($9,543 US aproximadamente).
El ganador indiscutible fue un hermoso potro alazán de nombre Dans Jess (Teller Cartel – Jess A Topper, por Mr Jess Perry), que bien apoyado por Eddi Cuéllar se impuso fácilmente por diferencia de 1 largo y medio sobre Harem Cartel. Tuvo la mejor arrancada del grupo y eso le permitió manejar bien el espacio en la pista, manteniéndose en punta durante toda la ruta, para agotarla en 17.44 segundos (SI 91).
El potro alazán es propiedad del Rancho El Suspiro, ubicado en el Estado de Chiapas, quien
también lo ha corrido exitosa- mente en Futuritys parejeros
en la región sureste de México. Su debut en el Hipódromo de Las Américas se dio el 28 de agosto de 2016, pero su primera
victoria la obtuvo el 30 de octubre siguiente, solo unos días después de haber sido nominado para este clásico. De tal manera que su récord queda en 2 – 0 – 1, en 4 participaciones.
Fue criado en los Estados Unidos por Adams Dan L, y para este compromiso lo ensilló el entrenador Fidel Rosado Guevara. La gratificación a su esfuerzo fue de $118,560 pesos ($5,726 US aproximadamente). En
la premiación estuvo presente José de Jesús Jiménez Jr., hijo del homenajeado.
La segunda posición fue para la potranca Harem Cartel (Millenium Cartel – Harem Carver), propiedad de la Cuadra Santa Elena y entrenada por Joaquín Ramón Peláez Cortés. Su conductor fue Moisés González García.
S Red Cat (Red Storm Cat – Bye Bye Jolene) concluyó en tercer lugar, bien dirigida por Moisés Molina Romo, para la Cuadra Quinta Marian y el entrenador Rigoberto Vega López.
