he called me back to tell me he forgot to tell me that a big reason for buying Friona was Texas Wildcat. They are full brother and sister.
The dam of both Friona and Texas Wildcat is the Quarter Horse mare named Savona, who won the 1995 Manor Downs Futurity and earned $25,979 from seven starts with one win, two seconds, and two thirds. Savona is sired by Raise The Gamble by Raise Your Glass TB. This gives Ivoriona a breeding pattern of 5 X 5 X 4 to Raise Your Glass through her sire and dam.
Savona is the dam of four Quarter Horse foals that have earned their racing ROM, including stakes placed runner Westar Opener who was second in the Kansas Jackpot Prep Futurity-RG3, and third in the Kansas Futurity-G2 and Kansas Derby-G3. Savona’s foal Copper Cartel, by Corona Cartel, was a finalist in the 2008 Speedhorse Gold & Silver Cup Futurity-RG1.
