Mid-City Stakes-RG3
APOLLITICAL B SNOW
by Michael Compton
Apollitical B Snow has enjoyed a tremendous 2021 campaign for owner Christopher Villatoro. The gelding stretched his current win streak to four with a wire-to-wire victory in the $35,000 Mid-City Stakes-RG3 at Evangeline Downs on Oct. 9.
Ridden by Everardo Rodriguez, who has been aboard the brown gelding for all five starts this season, Apollitical B Snow assumed his customary position
at the front of the field following the start of the 350- yard event. He was challenged by Sir Louisiana Dash early and after shrugging off that challenge, he held
at bay a late rally from Lifeinthefastlanes to prevail by 3/4-length at the finish as the odds-on favorite.
In winning for the fourth straight time, Apollitical B Snow covered the distance in :17.313 and earned
a 102 speed index for trainer Rosendo Valdez Jr. Apollitical B Snow entered the Mid-City Stakes off a 1 1/2-length score in the Louisiana Classic Stakes-RG2 at Delta Downs on July 31.
All told, Apollitical B Snow has now won seven of 18 lifetime starts, and the $21,000 winner’s share of this purse raised his bankroll to $180,658. Bred in Louisiana by Glinden Leger Estate, Apollitical B Now is produced from the winning This Snow is Royal mare Mary Snow.
