Virgil Bond Stakes
BET I MAKE YOU FAMOUS
by Michael Compton
Bet I Make You Famous may not be a household name yet, but the 5-year-old gelding may be on his way as he ran like a star in the $40,000 Virgil
Bond Stakes at Delta Downs June 2.
Ridden by Alfonso Lujan, Bet I Make You
Famous was second from the inside post and flew
to the lead quickly, speeding clear to a 1-length advantage early in the 870-yard test. An 8-1 long shot, Bet I Make You Famous benefitted when odds- on favorite B And G Fast Dash broke awkwardly and failed to flash his customary zip.
Bet I Make You Famous rolled along uncontested on the front end, maintaining a clear lead through the lane and drawing off to win by 2-lengths at the finish. Trained by Trey Ellis, the gelding’s final time of :46.062 earned him a 94 speed index.
With the victory, his first in stakes company, Bet I Make You Famous improved his mark to 5(1)-4(1)-4(2) from 22 starts. The $15,000 winner’s share boosted his bankroll to $76,429 for owners Vernon Harman and Robert Moudy III.
Bet I Make You Famous, who also finished 2nd in the 2017 Marathon Stakes and 3rd in both the 2017 Sam Houston Distance Challenge & 2016 Bill Reed Memorial, was bred in Texas by James G. Markum & Robert T. Moudy out of winner Lone Bet. The mare has produced 100% money earners from 6 starters. Top earner Bet I Make You Famous is her 1st stakes winner.
Corona La Jolla (Tinys First Corona-Mary La Jolla) and jockey Donell Blake finished second for owner Crown Racing and trainer Judd Kearl.
B And G Fast Dash (Heza Fast Dash-Rita Regent) and jockey Donald Watson finished third for owner Mo Racing and trainer Kenneth Roberts Sr.
Game Own (Game Patriot-My Own Fortune), Im Mighty Fast (Mighty Corona-Sheza Fast Doll) and Agoutis Snowplow (Agouti-Elainas Snowplow) completed the order of finish.
Par-A-Dice Stakes
TDZ FAST DASHER
by Michael Compton
TDZ Fast Dasher was just that in the Par-A-Dice Stakes at Delta Downs on June 23. Under jockey Noe Castaneda, TDZ Fast Dasher grabbed the lead of the 300-yard dash shortly after breaking from the 8-post and refused to be headed, drawing clear to win as much the best. This marks her first stakes win and fifth victory overall from nine starts.
On a fast track with no wind, TDZ Fast Dasher won by 1-length, stopping the clock in :14.996 and post- ing a 106 speed index. TDZ Fast Dasher took home the $12,000 winner’s share of the purse for owner/breeder Tony Doughtie and trainer Kenneth Roberts, Sr. Doughtie bred TDZ Fast Dasher in Texas out
of six-time stakes winner and New Track Record setter Jes A Game. She has won graded stakes such
as the Louisiana Champions Day Derby-RG2, Vals Fortune Stakes-RG2, Flashy Hemp Stakes-RG3 and more. Jes A Game has produced 100% money earn- ers from 17 starters, including graded stakes winner and top money earner Jes A Fast Dasher, winner
of the Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Derby-RG3, The Treme Derby-RG3, and the LQHBA Sale Invitational Stakes. TDZ Fast Dasher is the mare’s second stakes winner.
The Ground Game (Game Patriot-Holy Groun) and jockey Ricardo Hernandez Jr. finished second for owner Jose Ortiz and trainer Gary Mason.
Tellem Im Pumped (Stoli-Pump It Teller) and jockey John Hamilton dueled early and faded
to third for owner Ten For Ten LLC and trainer Michael Taylor.

Higheasterjet Handicap-G3
BODACIOUS EAGLE
by Danny Camp
Bodacious Eagle scored his third graded stakes vic- tory in the 350-yard Higheasterjet Handicap-G3 at Ruidoso Downs on July 1.
Trainers Blane and Trey Wood have shuffeled
Bodacious Eagle back and forth between them, but Ricky Ramirez was always the pilot. The gelding broke on top from the outside gate and maintained 1/2-length throughout for a wire-to-wire victory, crossing the finish 1/2-length in front. The pair stopped the timer at :17.364 to earn a 99 speed index.
With the $23,000 first place check, Bodacious Eagle has now earned a total of $802,561 and has 11 wins out of 23 starts. Trey Wood did the saddling for owner Johnny Trotter.

Silk Cartel (Corona Cartel-Silk Mountain) finished third. Her connections include owner Valeriano Racing Stables LLC and trainer Joel Valeriano. Bonaficio Quiroz was handling the reins.
