PHQ GOODBYE EARL

It was a bright, yet wet evening at Remington Park where horses of every color were entered in the $34,100 PSBA American Paint Derby-G1 on April 29.
PHQ Goodbye Earl broke on top from the 7-post and maintained his position throughout the 400 yards. Regular rider Jesus Salazar was able to guide PHQ Goodbye Earl for a wire-to-wire victory, stop- ping the timer in :19.897 to earn an 87 speed index.
The sorrel gelding now carries a race record of six wins, including four Grade 1’s out of 15 races. The $14,479 winner’s share of the purse pushed his bankroll to $162,681.
PHQ Goodbye Earl is owned by Paint Horse Queens, and trained by Dee Keener and bred in Oklahoma by Dee Keener out of 2-time Champion/ Grade 1 stakes winner Sayonara. The mare has produced 100% money earners from just two starters. 2-time 2016 Champion PHQ Goodbye Earl is her top earner and first stakes winner. The gelding was coming off a win in the March 25 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Derby-G1 at Remington Park.
DTL Fast Flyin Tex (Texas Six-Flyin Candy QH) broke from the 3-post and ran a steady and even race. He captured second place money for his team that includes owners Mark and Lori Dolan. Dee Keener trains the gelding who had Ricky Ramirez in the irons.
DTL Batter Up (Royal Quick Flash-Beef Jerkin Queen) finished third for owner Elizabeth Logan. Dee Keener also saddled this sorrel gelding and Jose Vega was handling the reins.
SM Mr Royal Snowman (SM Country Snowman-A Royal Country Miss QH), Lajollas Big Thunder (Royal Quick Flash-MCM Evelyn Lajolla), Slim Chickens (Judys Lineage-Takin On The Green QH) Judys Legend (Lonestar Legend-Judys Apollo) completed the order of finish.

Sam Crow secured his first stakes win in the $61,800 Mr. Jet Moore Stakes, a 350-yard dash at Remington Park on April 6. The track was fast with a slight 8 mph tail wind when Sam Crow broke from the 6-post with Ricky Ramirez in the irons. Racing for Terry Baber, Sam Crow defeated 5-2 second choice Valiant Rogue, finishing 3/4-length ahead of the competition with a time of :17.346 for
a 93 speed index, Sam Crow took home the $35,280 winner’s share of the purse and boosted his lifetime earnings to $960,377. Sam Crow entered the stakes with a handful of second-place finishes, including the 2016 Mighty Deck Three Stakes and the 2015 Grade 1 All American Derby.
Sam Crow was bred by Paris Wixon out of graded stakes winner Bourbonstreetchick, who
won the 2002 Clovis Classic Futurity-RG3 and was runner-up in the New Mexico Derby Challenge-G3, the New Mexico Distaff Challenge-G3, and the West/Southwest Distaff Challenge-G3. The mare has produced 100% money earners from 10 starters, including stakes winner Corona Street and New Track Record setter/graded stakes finalist Teller More Bourbon. Sam Crow is her top earner and second stakes winner to date.
With guidance from jockey Rodrigo Vallejo, Valiant Rogue (Valiant Hero-Azoom Babe) finished second for owner Wyok Ranch LLC and trainer Judd Kearl.
Third place went to Phoebesdynasty (FDD Dynasty-My Special Phoebe) for owner Kirk Goodfellow and trainer Cody Reynolds.
Bye Byefreighttrain (Freighttrain B-Bye Bye Byegones), I V Gone (Ivory James-Bye Bye Bygones), Hearts Ona Hero (Valiant Hero-Dashing Uno), Bringin The Gray (Mr Jess Perry-None As Easy), Major Freight (Freighttrain B-Romancin Ashley) completed the field.

Betting favorite The Fiscal Cliff sprinted his way
to his fifth stakes victory and first in graded competition in the $51,800 Bob Moore Memorial-G2
at Remington Park on April 22.
Under cloudy skies, The Fiscal Cliff broke on
top from the outside post aided by a 20 mph tail wind. The bay colt was able to soar to an impressive wire-to-wire victory with jockey Cesar Gomez. The Kasey Willis trainee completed the 300-yard dash with a 1/2-length lead for a time of :15.179 and a 97 speed index. He took home the $29,784 winner’s share, pushing his lifetime earnings to $346,118 with 10 wins in 17 starts, including the Iowa Double Gold Futurity, Jim Bader Futurity, Polk County Derby and the Heritage Place Juvenile.
The Fiscal Cliff was bred in Iowa by breeder/ owner Thomas Lepic out of 3-time winner Signs Zoomer, who also finished fourth in the Oklahoma Horsemen’s Association Futurity-RG2. She has produced 100% money earners from six starters. The Fiscal Cliff is her second stakes winner. Wagon Tales is her top earner and winner of the Remington Park Juvenile Invitational and the A Ransom Handicap.
Memphis D Nasty (FDD Dynasty-Jess A Cartel) made a solid effort under Edwuin Lujan to finish second for owner Esteban Sanchez Ruiz and trainer Mario Sanchez.
With a clean trip, Apollitical OK (Apollitical Jess-Taka Puna) and jockey Esgar Ramirez were able to finish third for owners Oscar Dominguez & Joel Martinez and trainer Joel Valeriano Jr.
Tres Friends (Tres Seis-Lotta Love For Robyn), Sudden Separation (Inseperable-Okie Dokey Annie), TF Cajun Cartel (Corona Cartel-Dashadee), Tee Chic (Jumpn Chic-First Down Tee), Chainman (Separatist-Ask The Question) & BV Midnite Express (Freighttrain B-Ms Tres Seis) completed the field.
