Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby-RG1
HOOKED N GONE

When Hooked N Gone broke slowly in the April 22 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby-RG1, trainer Victor Ibarra despaired. But his runner quickly redeemed himself, rushing up to take the lead and hold- ing onto it to score by 1/2-length in :19.710 for 400 yards under jockey Cristian Esqueda.
Ibarra had to be coaxed into watching the replay, saying, “Okay, I’ll watch the replay, but just watch him. Oh, oh, oh, it’s so frustrating watching him break like that. But, man, does he have a lot of heart. Oh man, look at him!”
Hooked N Gone likes Remington Park.
All three of his lifetime victories have come at the Oklahoma track, including in last year’s Remington Park Juvenile Stakes and his trial to the Heritage Place Futurity.
Esqueda has been aboard in all three races.
Ibarra trains Hooked N Gone for owner/ breeder Regina Laymon.
In addition to his wins, Hooked N Gone finished second in the 2022 Rainbow Juvenile
