DEES JETTING DIVA

Dees Jetting Diva improved vastly from her April 21 trial for the Old South Futurity in the finals. She got the job done in both cases,
however, to keep her record a perfect two-for- two, but in the finals she didn’t have to make up nearly as much ground.
Drawn on the outside in her trial, Dees Jetting Diva broke in seventh position. She rushed up late in the 330-yard
event, passing horses quickly
and eking out victory by a head under jockey Eddie Sanchez. Her time of :16.937 gave her the ninth-fastest time.
Dees Jetting Diva drew the 3-post in the finals and her trial performance kept many bettors from backing her at the windows.
She went off at 24-1, the third-longest shot in the field, with fastest-qualifier Parti Wagon the 3-5 favorite.
Raul Ramirez Jr. rode Dees Jetting Diva in the finals. They broke on top and Dees Jetting Diva received every call, outsprinting her rivals to lead by 1-length midway through the race. Jessies Wicked One closed ground to challenge approaching the wire. Dees Jetting Diva held off the gelding to win by a neck
in :16.549 for a career-high 102 speed index.
The filly earned $56,153 for the stakes victory, boosting her total lifetime earnings to $59,753.
Roberto Madrigal trains Dees Jetting Diva for owner/ breeder White Tail Welding.
White Tail Welding bred Dees Jetting Diva out of unraced La Boreal. Dees Jetting Diva is the mare’s first foal.
The second dam, Leading Diva, won the 2000 Manor Downs Lassie Futurity-G3
and earned $138,174. Leading Diva is a full sister to Champion Leading Spirit.
Jessies Wicked One (Jess Zoomin-Jess A Classy Lassy), who was 3rd in his trial heat and the 8th fastest qualifier, finish 2nd under Noe Villatoro for owner Baldomero Araiza and trainer Martin Rubalcava. Lester Colomb Jr.’s homebred Mia Jet In (Jet Black Patriot- PYC First Prize Mia), winner of her trial and the 2nd fastest qualifier, finished 3rd under Luciano Duenez for trainer Kenneth Weeks.
