TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity-RG3
EYE AM TUFF

Eye Am Tuff scored his first win in the $124,000 TQHA Sires Cup Futurity-RG3 at Retama Park on Sept. 1.
Under Ricardo Garza-Cruz, Eye Am Tuff broke on top from the inside post and held a 1/2-length length for the majority of the race. Diamond G Bee made up ground in the stretch and nearly overtook Eye Am Tuff, but the gelding held on, crossing the wire a nose in front.
Eye Am Tuff completed the 350 yards in :18.027 earning an 89 speed index.
Trained by Kie Mushinski, Eye Am Tuff brought home the $49,600 winner’s share of the purse, boosting his total lifetime earnings to $53,118. The gray gelding is owned by Sue Fikes.
Prior to breaking his maiden, he had finished second in his debut and third in three races, includ- ing his Aug. 17 TQHA Sires Cup Futurity trial.
Fikes bred Eye Am Tuff out of 3-time winner Loves Easter Bunny, who was named Texas Hi-Point Three-Year-Old Filly in 2003. She has produced 100% money earners from seven starters, including 7-time stakes winner and top earner Loves Brown Sugar. Eye Am Tuff is her third stakes winner.
Diamond G Bee (Majestic Cartel-Hermes For Me B) and Francisco Calderon were second for owner Bryon Gardner and trainer James Padgett II.
Kashman (Prospect To The Top-Jess Kashmere) was third under Roman Huerta for owner Maria Gama Medrano and trainer Yoni Martinez.
Baller (Jess Zoomin-Panther Speed), Rosearian (Coronado Cartel-String Bikini), JLC First Prize Elva (SS Samson-Ms Classic Jones TB), Coronas On The Coast (Special Royal Corona-Coasting Rabbit), JM Destiny (Tempting Dash-Solid Connection), Rock Solid Shake (Rock Solid Jess-Shake Em Fever) and Cosmos Finest (Cosmograph-Louisiana Lenas Girl) completed the order of finish.

Jess Leaving Fast scored his first stakes victory in the $95,220 John Deere Retama Park Juvenile Challenge on Aug. 18.
Jess Leaving Fast and jockey Nestor Duran broke from the 1-post in second and quickly grabbed the lead. They stayed there throughout, crossing the wire 3/4-length in front.
The bay colt completed the 350 yards in :17.518, earning a career-best 105 speed index.
Jess Leaving Fast brought home the $43,801 winner’s share of the purse for owner Double H Racing Investment LLC and trainer Santiago Riojas Jr., boosting his total lifetime earnings $49,981.

World Champion/Champion 3-Year-Old Gelding Whosleavingwho. The mare has produced 100% money earners producer from three starters, including The Valiant One, who finished third in the Oklahoma Horsemen’s Association Mystery Futurity-RG3 last year. Jess Leaving Fast is her first stakes winner and top earner. The colt’s second dam is California Hi-Point Aged Mare/multiple graded stakes winner Lil Bit Rusty.
Wii B (Mighty B Valiant-Devil Wears Prada B) and Eddie Sanchez were second for owner Arturo Ibarra and trainer Jose Sanchez III.
This Guys A Volcom (Volcom-Kimbo Cartel) finished third under Juan Garcia Jr. for owners Melissa Aguirre & Ramiro Martinez Jr. and trainer Gilbert Aguirre III.

Droff scored his first stakes win in the $46,260 Retama Park Derby Challenge on Aug. 18. Under Luis Vivanco, Droff stepped away
from the 2-post in fourth, but quickly grabbed a 1/2-length lead by the first call and extended his lead to cross the wire 3/4-length in front.
He completed the 400 yards in :19.965, earning a 95 speed index. Previous to this start, the gelding won his July 27 trial where he qualified the fastest with a time of :19.778.
Droff brought home the $21,280 winner’s share of the purse for breeder/owner/trainer Jorge Haddad, boosting his cumulative earnings to $45,420.
Droff has won his last three of four races since Luis Vivanco took over the riding assignment. He also finished second in the Old South Derby at Delta Downs earlier this year.
Haddad bred Droff out of 2005 Manor Downs Handicap winner Cindys First CD, a half-sister to All American Derby-G1 finalist Possum Fust. The mare has produced 100% money earners from 14 starters, including 2011 Bugs Alive In 75 Stakes win- ner Easydoesitcindy and 2013 Laico Bird Stakes win- ner Pronto Alex. Droff is her fourth stakes winner.
Mystical Jess (Apollitical Jess-Traffic Juana) came in second under Jesse Levario for owner Juan Lozano Jr. and trainer Alonso Neri.
Lions Express (Freighttrain B-This Cat Purrs) and Francisco Ramirez Jr. finished third for owner Jose G. Espinoza and trainer Adrian Huitron.
Syms TLC (The Louisiana Cartel-Symphonic), Sweet Fittin Jeans (One Sweet Jess-Veva Jean), Tempting Mary (Tempting Dash-Streakin O Toole), Nailed It (One Dashing Eagle-Brava Brava), Salados Man (Country Chicks Man-Salado Sis) and JLC Rustysspecialpie (Teller Cartel-Rustys Special) completed the order of finish.
