Louisiana Bred Lassie Futurity-RG2
BTRAIN
by Michael Compton
Btrain remained undefeated in three lifetime starts and registered the initial stakes win of her career with a facile victory
in the $310,695 Louisiana Lassie Futurity at Delta Downs on May 27.
With jockey J.R. Ramirez in the irons in the Grade 2 finals, Btrain broke seventh from the eight gate and raced toward the back of the pack early in the 10-horse field, although not far off the lead.
The bay filly rallied from seventh position in the lane to second at the top of the stretch, 1/2-length behind then leader Amadeo
Perry on the inside of the track. That one was bumped and raced in tight quarters, weakened and was out of contention.
Btrain rallied on the outside of the track and prove much the best, rolling to a 1 1/2-length score in the 330-yard contest.
In notching her first black-type win, Btrain, who was sent to the post as the 5-2
