ops First Lady, a 4-year-old daughter of World
Champion Apollitical Jess racing for Ruse Ranch LLC of Laredo, Texas, earned her second stakes win of the Remington Park spring meet in the 400-yard Junos Request Stakes-G1 for fillies and mares on May 28.
Prepped by Charles “Duke” Shults and racing against a reported 15-mph head wind, Pops First Lady defeated Valiant Stars by 1-length in :19.779, while posting a 90 speed index. Bryan Candanosa rode the sorrel filly, who pocketed the $64,446 winner’s share of a $108,620 purse.
Pops First Lady was stretching out in distance off of a nose victory in the 350-yard Easy Date Stakes-G3 for distaffers on April 16. Campaigned in three states, Pops First Lady has won five of 13 races and has earned $237,249, and her record includes a third-place finish in last year’s $393,000 Texas Classic Derby-G1.
The filly was bred in Texas by Gary Kurz and Double M Racing, and is out of Shazooms Pop Pop, a homebred winning daughter of Shazoom. Pops First Lady’s second dam, the winning and stakes- placed Gotta Pop Pop, produced four graded stakes winners, all of whom were half siblings to Shazooms Pop Pop, including 1993 Manor Downs Derby-G2 winner Jodies Pop Pop and 2001 TQHA Sale Futurity-RG2 winner Randys Pop Pop.
Valiant Stars (Valiant Hero-Cluster Of Stars) banked $21,482 for owners J & SM Inc. and Stone Chase Stables LLC. The mare was ridden by Noe Garcia Jr. for trainer Fred Danley.
Glamazon (A Revenant-Eat The Fish) was third for owner Cristian Leonardo Alcala. Rodrigo Vallejo rode the filly for trainer Leonardo Alcala.
Cat Daddys Lil Girl (Big Daddy Cartel- Girlonthego) finished fourth and was followed by Kool And Fabulous (One Fabulous Eagle-One Kool Wagon) and Sin Sational Kisser (Kiss My Hocks-Sin Tacha Perry). BH Five was scratched.

ascallywittlewabbit, a 7-year-old son of Heza
Motor Scooter and the reigning Champion Distance Horse, led at every call en route to a 2-length victory in the $54,470 Remington Park Distance Championship-G1 on May 28.
Prepped by Mike Joiner for owner Rogers Farms of Clint, Texas, Wascallywittlewabbit covered 870 yards in :44.998 while racing into a reported 10-mph head wind in the homestretch. Josh Romero rode the bay gelding, who banked $32,142 from his second consecutive win in this stakes.
Raced in two states, including New Mexico, Wascallywittlewabbit has won 13 of 24 starts -- including 12 of 18 at the 870 distance and five of six at Remington Park -- and the $32,142 winner’s share of this purse from his eighth career stakes victory pushed his bankroll to $344,188.
Wascallywittlewabbit was bred in New Mexico by Mike Weatherly, and the gelding is out of Rabbits N Diamonds, an unraced daughter of the Yawls Rabbit stallion Rabbits Rainbow. His second dam Shines Likea Diamond, won the 400-yard KHEY/ Y96 Handicap at Sunland Park in 1998. Shines Likea Diamond produced Rainbows N Diamonds,
a full sister to Rabbits N Diamonds who won the 2008 AQHA New Mexico Distaff Challenge-G3 at Ruidoso Downs.
Shockinglyfamous (One Famous Eagle-Shocktime) finished second under Stormy Smith for owners Stone Chase Stables LLC and Kasey Willis, who also trained the 6-year-old stallion. Daniel Kjorsvik’s Holy Storm (Red Storm Cat-Holy White Socks) ran third under Roman Cruz for trainer Pat Swan. Bubba Bad (Second Painted Sign-Dashin Di), Cold Brewster (Im A

ired Four Forty soared to his first victory
in stakes company in the $39,100 National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum Stakes at Remington Park on May 28.
The gelding broke on top from the 1-post under Justine Klaiber and was never headed. The pair stayed a head in front throughout the 440 yards all the way to the wire, stopping the timer in :21.879, while posting a career best 87 speed index.
Trained by Eddie D. Willis, Wired Four Forty collected the $19,782 winner’s share of the purse
for owner/breeder James Sills, boosting his total bankroll to $52,301. Raced exclusively in Oklahoma, Wired Four Forty has won four races from 11
starts and was second in the Mister Lewie Paint & Appaloosa Memorial-G1.
Sills bred Wired Four Forty out of winner Bentley James QH, who has produced two winners from three starters. Wired Four Forty is her first stakes winner.
7-time Champion Bully Pulpit APHA (CRM Livewire-Judys Apollo) finished second under Fernando Fonseca-Soto for owners Dan & Kaye Jones and trainer Ty Blackwell. Multiple stakes winner Js Runnin Wire APHA (CRM Livewire-Iwilliewantarunner QH) was third for owner Shirley Wheeler. The Dee Keener trainee had Gonzalo Gutierrez in the irons.
