APOLLITICAL DYNAMITE

pollitical Dynamite scored his first stakes win in
the $130,713 John Deere Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge-G3, and the $61,435 winner’s purse boosted his bankroll to $66,085.
Trainer Juan Diaz Jr. and jockey Victor Urieta
Jr. combined to win the John Deere Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge-G3 for the second consecutive year. Apollitical Dynamite followed De Laurentis in 2021.
Urieta got Apollitical Dynamite away from the gate perfectly, and they went right to the lead. Favored Jes An Angel stumbled at the start and wasn’t a
factor. Apollitical Dynamite dominated the field by
1 3/4-lengths, completing 350 yards in :18:121 and earning an 82 speed index.
Diaz trains Apollitical Dynamite for Red Sea Racing Stables, who bought the colt for $87,000 from the Lazy E Ranch at the 2021 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. Wallace Johnson bred Apollitical Dynamite in Oklahoma out of winner Runawayheart. The mare
has produced five winners in seven starters, including stakes-placed Carters Favorite. The second dam, graded stakes winner Dashingfordestiny, produced three stakes winners and is out of Champion and AQHA Dam of Distinction Dashing Phoebe.
Luis Vivanco rode Jess Good Wine (Good Reason SA-Mr Perrys Wine) to second for owner Guns Up Racing and trainer Toby Keeton. Capo On Fire (Capo De Capi-Caliente Kate) finished third under jockey H.J. Hernandez for owner Luz Hernandez and trainer Jailinne Venzor.

HIS TIME TO DEAL
Wby Danny Camp
ith $108,000 up for grabs, the Willie
Hickman Memorial at Sam Houston Race Park drew some of the best in the business. His
Time To Deal stepped away from the 7-post with
Ali Rivera aboard. The gelding didn’t get the first call but with plenty of encouragement from Ali,
they were in front halfway through the sprint. They crossed the wire a neck in front, stopping the clock in :19.980, while posting a carrer best 102 speed index.
Trained by John Stinebaugh, the gelded son of Dealagame earned the first place check worth $64,800, which boosts his lifetime bankroll to $186,549 for owner/breeder Pete Scarmardo.
His Time To Deal has now won six races from 15 starts, including the 2020 Sam Houston Juvenile Challenge-G3 and 2021 TQHA Sires’ Cup Derby.
Scarmardo bred His Time To Deal out of winner Lady Lilia. She has produced eight winners from 15 starters, including top earner This Is A Deal Too, who won the 2018 & 2019 Lovington Stakes-G2 at Zia Park. His Time To Deal is her third stakes winner.
Famous Chief (One Famous Eagle-Rockin Regent TB) fought the good fight to capture second place for owner Debbie Grimes. The Charles “Duke” Shults trainee had Bryan Candanosa in the saddle
Scarmardo and Stinebaugh also teamed on Watch Him B Famous (One Famous Eagle-Lady Lilia), who had the lead right out of the gate but had to settle for third place under Jose Martinez for trainer John Stinebaugh.
Won Famous Dash (Giorgino-Lil Famous Dash), Blazin The Moon (Moonin The Eagle- Cindys First CD), Gianniy (One Famous Gianni- Chalinashake), Rock Solid Stones (Rock Solid Jess-Precious Serendipity) and Eye Will Decide (Majestic Cartel-Valiant Lil Lady) completed the order of finish.

es Jess Dealin is on the improve, in part because he
is getting away from the gate better. He not only qualified the fastest for the Adequan Sam Houston Derby Challenge in the May 26 trials, he won the $91,163 final on June 16.
Both jockey Francisco Calderon and owner/ breeder Pete Scarmardo noted that Hes Jess Dealin comes on strong at the end of his races. In the Challenge final, the gelding got away very well from the 10-post, so his strong finish propelled him to an overpowering 2-length victory. He completed 400 yards in :20.227, which was good for a 95 speed index.
Trained by John Stinebaugh, Hes Jess Dealin broke his maiden last year for a $20,000 claiming tag, and he also won an allowance race last year.
Scarmardo bred Hes Jess Dealin in Texas out
of winner Jess Marcy. The mare has produced six winners from seven starters, including stakes winner Shez Our Jess. Hes Jess Dealin’s third dam is stakes winner Marcy Darling, the dam of Champion First To Flash.
Ali Rivera rode Revenant Dynasty (A Revenant- Kirklyns Dynasty) to second place for owners A & A Horse Racing and Hector Ruiz and trainer Inez Delacruz. Revenant Dynasty, in 10 previous starts, won three, finished second twice, and finished third twice.
Sir Thorn Dash (Sir Runaway Dash-Thorn Chicks) ran third under jockey Pedro Espinosa for owner GR Stables and trainer Roberto Madrigal. The gelding has won three races in 11 starts.
Completing the field were Donttemptthisnatural (Kiss My Hocks-Just Another Natural), Brookes Brioni (One Famous Brioni-Brookes Racey Macey), JLC Walk Dont Run (First Prize Stone-Sheza Prize Rose), Biden Record (Pool-Shesa Crazy Chick), and Ryder Lee (Too Much Bling TB-Backwoods Bar B).
