Heza Streakin Legacy & Edwuin Lujan score a 1-length victory
Race record: 4-1-1-1 Day 1, Race #2
Martin Ybarra Jr.’s Heza Streakin Legacy spent his summer at Ruidoso Downs and will now face his toughest there on Labor Day. The colt broke his maiden in the 2nd trial on Aug. 18 and earned an All American starting berth in the process. Ridden for the 1st time by Edwuin Lujan, Heza Streakin Legacy
drew the 5 hole in the 2nd race, which was contested over a fast track with no wind. Breaking a step behind Sassy Senorita, Heza Streakin Legacy dueled early before gaining a 1/2-length advantage in the stretch. He extended that lead to a length at the wire, stopping the timer in :21.795. Saddled by Alber- to Franco, Heza Streakin Legacy previously ran 3rd in a trial to the Ruidoso F.-G1 and 2nd in a trial to the Rainbow F.-G1. The latter effort earned him a spot in the Rainbow Juv., where he ran a troubled 8th. Heza Streakin Legacy was bred by Donald Friesen in Oklahoma and sold for $36,000 through the 2016 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. He is by Heza Fast Dash and is the 1st foal out of Legacys A Streakin si 111 ($117,527), who won 14 of 25 starts including the AQHRA Bonus Chal. where she set a 330-yard track record, the Evergreen Park Distaff Chal., AQHA Classic Bonus Chal., and Markell Bonus Chal. She was also 2nd in the Grade 3 Canada Cup F. and AQHA Gold Classic Bonus Chal., and 3rd in the Evergreen Park Derby Chal.

    Uptown Dynasty & Cipriano Vidana go wire-to-wire for a 1 1/4-length victory
Race record: 6-4(1)-2(1)-0 Day 2, Race #3
Trainer Wes Giles saddled the 2 fastest qualifiers to the All American Futurity on
day 2 of the trials, including $1 Million Ruidoso F.-G1 winner Uptown Dynasty. With his impressive resume, Uptown Dynasty will be the probable favorite in the All American Futurity on Labor Day. Uptown Dynasty started his career at Sam Houston,
where he ran 2nd in a futurity trial before shipping to Ruidoso, where he went on a 3-race winning streak. One of those was the Ruidoso F.-G1, where he dead-heated with Eagle Jazz. Returning for the Rainbow F.-G1, Uptown Dynasty again faced Eagle Jazz, but this time was 2nd. An All American rematch of the 2 rivals was not in the cards, as Eagle Jazz failed to qualify for the All American. Uptown Dynasty secured his final post by winning the 3rd trial on day 2 of trials under Cipriano Vidana. Uptown Dynasty broke on the lead and sped to win by 1 1⁄2-lengths. The winning time was :21.802. “He ran his best race ever,” said owner Melvin Neugebauer. “We X-rayed him after the Rainbow (Futurity) and he is perfect.” According to Giles,“He’s been training really well.” Uptown Dynasty was bred by Sam Green in Oklahoma. He sold for $65,000 at the 2016 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Uptown Dynasty is out of Hialeah Lassie F. winner Ms Southern Dynasty si 96 ($90,028), a 1/2-sis- ter to multiple Grade 1 winner Priceless Feature si 111 ($641,668, Ntr).
